Certainly one of the best Wine Museums I have had the good fortune to view. Indeed this was our second visit in 4 years. A BUCKET LIST location if you like wine. Kudos to the designer. There is a small fee to enter ..Foreign seniors no discount this time. Allow yourself at least 30+ minutes to view the exhibits in each section. The first gives one of the most comprehensive informative presentation on the various characteristic that makes this a world class wine growing area. The second part take you on another visual and verbal ( written Spanish and English ) tour of the early history of various vineyards and the processes. A Must Visit in Cafayate... and just a few minutes walk down from the main Plaza.

We are a family winery and that defines our vitiviniculture. El Porvenir de Cafayate is the luxury of being able to think long-term. We believe in Cafayate, its potential, its people, its history and its culture. We feel a deep respect and love for our terroir and we want this to be reflected in our wines. We seek to become better and better each day, in search of an unprecedented, unique level of quality. We take the legacy of our ancestors and, following the entrepreneurial spirit, we add innovative ideas, seeking our own betterment.Cafayate is our terroir and the cradle of our labor, where we simply add the most important element: the family. In El Porvenir de Cafayate we have maintained a vision: to make exceptional wines in a sustainable manner. And with the passing of each harvest, we feel that this vision is realized more and more strongly, as we achieve honest, true wines that reflect their origin. We proudly represent the essence of Cafayate.
Last Saturday when we were in Cafayate 5 of us visited a few bodegas to sample their wines. El Porvenir was by far the best. It is a bit pricier than the others we went to but so worth it. Adriana was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the wines she served us. She also gave us background on history etc. and was very engaged and answered all of our questions. As our Spanish leaves much to be desired, it was great that Adriana's English was very good . Thank you for a great time and good wine.

High Altitude Organic Wines and Restaurant
A group of 10 of us visited this winery on a recommendation of a friend, and it did not disappoint! We were given a discount for the tasting as we mentioned our friend, although it would have only cost $50P for tasting 4 different wines with crackers too (clear the pallet). Our host spoke very good English, as well as Spanish & French. She was very informative and helped create a relaxing atmosphere and we had a great time, getting tipsy & learning about the grapes that help make some of the best wines in the world; in the home of wine country. Some of samples we had included; Savignon, Malbec & Tannat. Highly recommend this winery!

This is an enormous gathering of artefacts of anytime between pre columbian time to mid XX century, all cramped in a large colonial house. The custodian is a highly educated tiny lady, the "collector"s widow. A bit ruff to start with as we hadn't rang the bell before comming in, she turn out to be most interesting and an absolutely lovely lady. We spend 2 happy hours with her as she talked passionately about Don Rodolfo's excavations and great findings as well as her own research and conservation work.

Cafayate is located in an area of ancient Diaguita indigenous settlements. Its name derives from the extinct league "cacan" and means "Cajón de agua". There is another interpretation held by an anthropologist that means "Place that has everything". More than 140 members make up an outstanding group of Cafayateños artisans, who exhibit their products since 1979 in this institution, a world of shapes and colors in different designs, directly from the hands of their creators. The members express their ancestral knowledge in a direct way to the visitors, thus giving a regionalist sample that differs in breadth with the industrial works. Unique in its kind. Works are exhibited in: Fabrics, Basketry, Ceramics, regional sweets, goldsmith's, saddlery and Felt. (Tejidos, Cestería, Cerámicas, dulces regionales, orfebreria, talabartería y Fieltro).
