Quarrymans Hospital - Informative and well presented site to visit with beautiful views of the lake and mountains. Hospital opening times limited from12:30 to 16:45 in high season - need to refer to main turquoise sign in main square adjacent to the Lake Museum Railway Station to verify opening times. The hospital is a short walk from the Slate Museum with an incline, and climb of some 70 steps, although there is an alternative tarmac road (not obvious and further) where the gradient is not too severe. There is a £4 car park fee for the Slate Museum/Pararn Country Park but the museums are FREE.

Following the announcement by Welsh Government that indoor attractions in Wales will close from Saturday 5 December, the Museum will be closed until further notice.
We visited Caernarfon Castle and found the RWF museum in the castle itself. The museum is well laid out and full of information about the Army and specifically the RWF and the impact they have had on conflicts through out teh years, specially for me WW1, which is a great interest of mine. There are a number of well laid out displays, backed up with great little scenes from the units history. A little shop at the end allows you to support the museum, please do so as this is the only way museums like this keep going.
