Blaafarvevaerket, or the Royal Cobalt Works of Modum was established in 1773 for the extraction of cobalt ore from the local mines in the surrounding hills. Today Blaafarvevaerket is one of Norways best known tourist attractions offering historical insight into the extraction and production of cobalt, guided tours of the mines and surrounding area and annual art exhibitions. Other attractions at the museum are the Theodor Kittelsen museum. The artist that created the troll as we know it! Children's Farm, several shops and eateries makes us a complete destination for all travellers. The museum and surrounding area is a popular tourist destination in central Eastern Norway with the Vikersund Ski Flying Arena, the worlds largest, and several other destinations for active tourists near by.

The houses at Langedrag are situated in an area of outstanding natural beauty. They look like fairytale castles, 1000 metres above sea level with a breathtaking view over mountains and lakes. Eva and Edvin K. Thorson started building the farm in 1978. They wanted to realise their dream of a farm where visitors could experience nature and animals at a closer range than anywhere else. ‘In awe of life’ is the motto at Langedrag. In the Nature Park you can find animals like reindeer, mouflon sheep, mountain fox, horses, goats, wild boars and lynxes. Few other places in the world would let you enter the wolf enclosure, like you can at Langedrag. Every Thursday and Friday in summer you can accompany us on a trip to our summer farm in the mountains. At the farm we make crisp bread on traditional hot plates and tell the stories of the area and its people.

The Norwegian Mining Museum including The Silves Mines collection of native silver, Norwegian minerals and miningindustry, Kongsberg skiing history, the coin and medal collection and the Kongsberg industry cololection are five exhibitions located under one roof in the city centre of Kongsberg. One ticket will give you access to all five museums. The Norwegian Mining Museum offers you the history of the Silver Mines and the worlds largest and most precious display of native silver. The Skimuseum has an astonishing collection consisting of over 5000 trophys. The Royal Mint Museum gives you an insight of the citys coin production from its beginning up until today. The museum of arms and weapons opened the year 2000 and conveys the industrial history of Kongsberg starting 1814. The Silvermines Join a train ride that takes you 342 meters below the surface and 2,3 km into the mountain. Inside the King’s mine there is a guided tour through stopes, adits and shafts. A mine elevator built in 1881 (“Fahrkunst”), is just one of many things to see on this tour, which takes 1,5 hours. The temperature is 6°C, so please dress warm! Children under 3 years are not permitted to entre the Silvermines.

Kjosterudjuvet is a 10.000 year old, spectacular, ravine only 10 minutes from Drammen centre. The ravine is 1300meters long and the stone walls are more than 60meters high. A more exiting excursion is hard to find!
