We got the chance to climb the observation tower and walk the trails before the tour - fun and kid friendly, and even the longest hiking path didn’t take more than 40 minutes all told. The cave tour was extensive and featured a lot more history and diverse geology than we were expecting - very much worth the time and price of admission. They have food and snacks for sale at the ticket counter, as well as a gift shop. Definitely recommend!

Specializing in artisanal Belgian style ales, Save the World Brewing Co is a 100% philanthropic production craft brewery. Located in Marble Falls in the beautiful Texas Hill Country, our brewery offers free daily tour, and beers are available for purchase to enjoy during your visit or to take home in growlers or by the bottle, six-pack, or case!
David and Quyhn and the staff are awesome! Their beers are really good and the selection is amazing. The brewery has plenty of seating, in and out, and a food truck that smelled heavenly. Top-notch facility, beers, and people. Fun environment. Parking was plentiful. They are open Fridays and Saturdays and are right off 281 in Marble Falls. A lot of thought was put into this business and proceeds go to charity. Beer purchase includes the glass. Highly recommend visiting STWB!

A 1,200-acre state park known for the 803-acre Inks Lake used for fishing, scuba diving and other water sports.
I love this park, and was surprised to see that they have so many wildflowers. They offer a guided wildflower hike every Friday and Saturday in April.
As for the hiking trails, they are more strenuous than the "easy" classification would suggest. We hiked the Valley Spring Creek Trail which is quite hilly and rocky in places. I had to use my hiking poles on over 1/2 of the trail.
I suggest hiking shoes for stability and hiking poles for assistance over the rocky and steep portions. Part of the trail is shaded, but more than 1/2 is not. Therefore, wear a hat, sunscreen, and/or protective (UV blocking) clothing if you tend to sunburn.
Also, bring water for the hike.
Please do not throw your litter on the trail. We saw litter, including a banana peel. It is not good for the wildlife to eat "people" food. Take a bag if you plan to eat on the trail, and bring the trash out with you.
Plan to spend 2-3 hours if you are hiking, longer if you are fishing. The have camp sites and cabins for rent for overnight stays.

Located in a charming 1904 building in Bertram, Texas just Northwest of the historic Bertram Train Depot. Step back in time and belly up to our old-fashioned bar where we offer a unique style of tastings in both wine and spirits. Come relax in one of our Irish style “snugs” or hangout in our courtyard. Wherever you decide to relax and enjoy, get your “Irish” up for Flanigan’s exceptional wine and spirits.
We were the only people there for lunch. Place is nice. We had 2 plates of fish and chips and 2 glasses of the cheapest wine they offer (1 glass each). The bill was $65 plus tip. I don't think Bertram can support this. I do hope they make it and we will go back to taste the spirits.

Very large main building with lots of large tables. Staff is attentive and informative. Tastings are $15 for 6 different varietals. Good selection of wine - generally found tastings flavorful but not especially notable. Very comfortable place to bring your own picnic lunch and relax. They had a person playing country music and singing to add to the ambiance.

A 1935 Art-Deco theatre located in Bertram, Texas featuring Live Music, Classic Movies, and Special Events.
This is an incredible historic small town theater. Opened in the 1930's, the theater retains all of it's original charm. This is a true gem. They have live performances and show old movies. The prices are good and so are the concessions which include beer and wine. You'll have a great night!

My family discovered this farm a few years ago and it is one of our favorite places to visit. You can check on their website for weather updates, picking conditions and they keep you very informed of what is going on their Facebook page. In the spring they are open to pick strawberries, blackberries, onions, potatoes and peaches. Then in the fall you can pick your own pumpkins. It is so much fun to take the kids out there and let them hunt for their own strawberries and pumpkins. They have some delicious snacks too (strawberry popsicles and ice cream!). There are benches to have a picnic at if you want. There are goats and horses to pet, in the fall you can ride on the horses.
They have different activities you can pay for so you can do as much or as little as you want. In the spring they have - Sand Art, ride the barrel train and paint-a-pot.
In the fall there are - Hayrides, candy corn kid maze, pumpkin painting, scarecrow stuffing, face painting, pick your own flowers, sand art, barrel train ride, berry bounce and the Texas Maze. That maze is huge! It is shaped like the state of Texas. Last year you got a punch card and had to find different stations throughout the maze to hole punch.
There are so many great photo opportunities during both seasons. It is a great way to spend the day. I highly recommend visiting in both the spring and fall. I can't say enough good things about this farm.

Torr Na Lochs (tore nah locks) Vineyard and Winery overlooks Inks and Buchanan Lakes in the Highland Lakes area of the Texas Hill Country. The name translates from the Gaelic language to "hill over lakes" and describes the site perfectly. Our objective is to grow grapes suited for our terroir and produce wines from only Texas grown fruit.
We stumbled across this hidden vineyard during our travels and was pleasantly surprised. The variety and quality of wines was superb. We both enjoyed our visit to this beautiful site in the Texas Hill Country. I highly recommend this winery if and when you get...MoreSo glad you found us! Thanks for the kind words and hope to see you again.

Entertaining and informative tours of the spectacular Texan landscape.
This was a great tour. The scenery was beautiful, especially the waterfall and large stone structures in the lake. The food was excellent. They served jerk chicken, rice and veggies with a cookie for dessert. You have a choice of either water or tea. You are allowed to bring alcoholic beverages on board and a small ice chest. The sunset was spectacular!
