The Peninsula Museum of Art enhances the community and enriches lives through art and education, featuring outstanding artists of the Greater Bay Area with exhibitions, art classes for children and adults, special events, and working artist studios.
First of all, it's free (donation) which is fantastic. They have a nice collection of rotating exhibits and you can walk around and visit artist galleries in the building. If the artist is there, you can talk and get insight into their craft. It was a very cool experience. It's within walking distance of anywhere in Burlingame. The building itself is also very nice ... kind of an art school feel. You should visit it when/if you can as the building will be torn down for condos.

The Burlingame Museum of PEZ Memorabilia features an example of every Pez candy dispenser sold - now over 1000 pieces. Other Classic Toys have been added to the museum. Our newest exhibit features banned toys - including the 1951 Atomic Energy Laboratory and Lawn Darts.
This little shop contains so much cool history about something that brought so many people so much joy as a child and even later on in life as an adult. When you first walk in you see immediately collections of PEZ dispensers that are quite rare. Now if you rush through this place and only look at the surface level you might not feel very engaged however, the owner Gary is more than happy to answer any questions that you have and provides a friendly and informative background to most any question that you, shall I say dispense, in his general direction. I learned more about this quirky little candy dispenser in a half hour than I ever knew my entire life. It's the little shops like this that make for a wonderful experience. (Even if this particular historical fact might give you a cavity...!)

Project Zen is the best. They do everything right. When you book, they have a great texting system set up which confirms your appointment, provides a reminder, and even allows you to reschedule if you need to. The folks who work the front desk are super welcoming and helpful. They are running a really tight ship during COVID; it is super clean and dialed in. In terms of bodywork, I’ve been going for a few years now. I’ve worked with a dozen different masseuses and I’ve had consistently excellent experiences. I run, ride, swim, etc - so I bang my old body up pretty good. They always get me back to center - it’s the best self-care around! Pro Tip - you can pre-pay for a block of time and you end up saving a good deal. Highly recommend doing that if you’re local like I am. Love this place!
