The Bunbury City Council & the Bunbury Port Authority are to be commended for all that they do to protect and maintain Koombana Bay.

Bunbury Wildlife Park

See over 60 varieties of native animals in an open parkland setting. Feed the birds in the walk through aviaries, pat the kangaroos and stroll through the gardens. Light snacks and refreshments are available to purchase or bring a picnic to enjoy.

Back Beach

Reviewed By 619jeffry - Essendon, Australia

Back Beach is one of this southern city's most popular beaches. It's great for paddling or swimming; you can also fish, and cook you catch on the BBQs. Back Beach is on Geographe Bay, named after the early French explorers. Bunbury is not known for its surf, so the attempt to create surfable waves with the Airwave project created interest.

Well worth the climb to experience a 360 degree view of Bunbury from the ocean to the bay. Alternatively, a good place to exercise if you enjoy the steps

Taffy's

Wonderful range of sweets. You’d be hard to please if you couldn’t find something to enjoy. Amongst the things we bought was the peanut brittle; best I’ve ever had. And the box of Fudgels we got for our daughter back home she described as “awesome”. After making our selection of sweets we finished up have thick shakes which were terrific. Highly recommend a visit.

An excellent place to swim in summer or take a stroll in winter. If you dont want to go down to the beach the car park is along the beach so you can sit in the car to admire the ocean or watch the magnificent sunsets.

Big Swamp Walk

Reviewed By mjail5

We were not sure where the entrance was and happened to park at the entrance where the paperbark trees were. Well maintained boardwalks passing the paperbarks until we reached the lookout shelter to sight the birdlife. We later found out that the main car park is where the Wildlife Park is situated. The whole loop is 2kms long and is totally flat and suitable even for prams/wheelchairs. Hence, the Big Swamp Walk is for everyone to enjoy. We saw black swans, purple swamp hens, some other water birds and a few duck varieties. Being Parkrunners, we were also excited to find that the Bunbury Parkrun's home ground is at The Big Swamp Park. We would like to come back in a different season of the year or perhaps, even at dawn or dusk to observe other species of wildlife.
