We went here to get a different view of the dam and an up close view of the White River. You can walk right down to the water. Watch out for the concrete sidewalk, it can be slippery.

We were camping at Bull Shoals and road around the area and town. The dam and visitors center is quite impressive. Glad we came to see it.

Given the fact of the virus hitting all over we tried something new. We went to Arkansas! Bull Shoals Lake to be exact. The customer service was the sweetest and the sunsets were breathtaking. Not only were we surprised by such a family oriented place but the staff made you feel like you were visiting a home away from home. The weather was unpredictable but the sunsets after a storm... WOW. well worth it. I was skeptical when I read reviews about the not so nice customers and the dirtiness of the place.. but you obviously can’t believe everything you read. I’m not sure where THOSE bathrooms were but these are the ones we were provided. I would highly recommend this place for a small getaway to anyone! My family will be coming back next year! Thank you guys so much.

Situated on a high point, the Bull Shoals - White River State Park's James A Gaston Visitor Center offers sweeping views of the White River, Bull Shoals Dam, and the Bull Shoals Lake. The center's Exhibit Hall, lobby, gift shop and Johnboat Theater share the history and tell of the fish the area waters hold.
This center ticks all the boxes, Location, Local Advice, Clean Restrooms...Its got it all!! It also has a nearby walking trail if you want to stretch your legs and a nice butterfly garden.
