Peddler's Village is a 42-acre attraction in Bucks County that offers year-round shopping, dining, lodging and family entertainment. Located just minutes away from New Hope, PA, Peddler's Village comprises 60+ stores, six restaurants, a 66-room luxury hotel called the Golden Plough Inn, and the Giggleberry Fair indoor family fun center, which includes a 1920s carousel, a six-level climbing mountain/maze with berry blasters, and an arcade.
Get out and go shopping at Peddlers Village. Lots of shops and eateries, easy free parking and lots of people without the riff-raff. Peddlers Village is fun to just stroll and people watch even if you don’t feel like shopping. Big Thumbs up for this attraction.

Founded in 1939 in a converted 1790 gristmill, Bucks County Playhouse quickly became “the most famous summer theatre in America,” featuring a roster of American theatrical royalty including Helen Hayes, George S. Kaufman, Moss Hart, Kitty Carlisle, Angela Lansbury, Alan Alda, Tyne Daly, Bernadette Peters, and Liza Minnelli and remained in continuous operation until 2010. In 2012, the Playhouse re-opened after a multi-million-dollar restoration thanks to the efforts of the Bridge Street Foundation. In 2018, the Playhouse unveiled The Deck, a 4,000 square foot Delaware-river view restaurant. In 2014, Tony Award-winning producers Alexander Fraser and Robyn Goodman took the helm of the Playhouse. Today the creative teams who create new productions here are among the most talented artists working in the professional theatre. They relish the opportunity to work on the historic stage where Grace Kelly, Robert Redford, and Jessica Walter began their careers.
a classic place for up and coming actors. good restaurants and a great town to browse and shop...a get away location with or without the theater....

On December 22, 1940 (a few days after the Pearl Harbor bombing), The Von Trapp Family Singers entertained at a Christmas party for 200 guests at Aldie Mansion. So the legend goes....Broadway actress Mary Martin and other theatrical people were in attendance at this party given by hosts, wealthy Mr. & Mrs. Mercer. After the performance, Ms. Martin and her friends rushed to nearby Highland Farm, home of Oscar Hammerstein II. "Oscar, do we have a story for you!" Well, I imagine that to be the tone of the conversation. From that moment, The Sound of Music was conceived and produced. Indeed, members of the Mercer Family were friends of Captain Von Trapp and his family; so this adds to the strong affiliation Bucks County has enjoyed with the stage and movie industries. Our tour of Aldie Mansion was both educational and entertaining. Our guide, Sandy, was most informed about the Mercer family and just about every aspect of the mansion property. Within, there were many leaded windows, stone and wooden floors, beautiful woodwork trim, fireplaces and pieces of recovered original art. Outdoors, there are restored fountains, very old and spreading trees, wonderful gardens and even a few gargoyles atop the mansion. Tours are given by appointment only. There is plenty of free parking. Tickets were $10 for seniors. There are free outdoor concerts during the summer at Aldie; and very nice decorations at Christmas.
