Pioneer Park

Pioneer Park in the heart of downtown Puyallup is a great place especially for small kids on a summer day. There's a nice playground and a nice spray park. The park is adorned with dozens of the most beautiful hanging baskets you've seen. There are coffee shops right across the street and in the southeast corner is Giorgio's Greek restaurant. It's not big (one square city block by my estimation) but has lots of grassy areas, is crisscrossed with sidewalks, hosts a farmer's market and outdoor concerts. It's about five blocks north of the Puyallup Fair grounds. I won't give you much for the southhill part of Puyallup, but downtown still has that old small town feel and Pioneer Park adds to that feel.

Elk Head Brewing Company

A cool brewery located in a small warehouse in the wilds of Buckley. Much bigger than I originally anticipated, the tasting room is quite large with lots of generous seating. Pro tip - if you bring a unique growler you can exchange for it and it will be hung up as decoration in the tasting room. One of the owners is into chainsaw art and his efforts are all over the brewery. They are actually quite cool. Check out the tanks in the brewery, they are copper jacketed! Beers were solid. This place pleasantly exceeded my expectations.

I've been coming to Deep Lake for over 30 years. Few things have changed, still love it. Yes, sometimes it's crowded, bring something to float on. Great trail that goes around the lake, most kids have no trouble. Lot's of people walking there dogs around the lake also. Stay all day and Barbecue, make sure you bring everything to eat. Or pick stuff up in Enumclaw before going. There is a very small store about a mile from the lake in Cumberland.

Puyallup Farmers Market

We had a wonderful time at the Puyallup Farmers Market and really enjoyed the fact that ALL dogs are welcome! I will say that it was so nice to be there on a day when the weather was absolutely perfect. No rain, temperature was mild and very fun taking my service dog Pearl out with us. We picked up some organic skin cream, purchased some very nice wood cutouts from a vendor and special ordered an item to pick up in another week. I especially loved a vendor that sold Fair-Trade Baskets from Africa that are absolutely amazing. By purchasing through a vendor at the market, it helped to promote a cottage business as well. We had some ono Hawaiian/Polynesian food. Packed it up after seeing/purchasing what we wanted and headed for home. We went back one more time and even brought a friend. We plan on going again next year to see what's new! We do have a local Farmers Market (5 minutes from our home) but it was fun to check out some old stomping grounds from years ago. Terrific for singles, couples, families and friends. Can't say I was disappointed about anything! I'd even make the trip all by myself.

Enumclaw Public Library

This is a very nice library to visit. It is well loved and take care of. It has computers for the children and a nice little reading area for them as well. And the staff is always helpful and kind.

The only reason I reviewed it 4 out of 5 is because sometimes there are some questionable looking people milling around the front that sometimes make me nervous.

With that said, we still enjoy coming to this library and do so often.

Bradley Lake Park

Reviewed By pat c - Puyallup, Washington

Small park with a lake in the middle. It's a good walk around the lake though, great to bring the dog or just walk with a friend. There is a small playground for younger children and a covered pavilion for get togethers with friends or family. And it's set off the main drag, so not a lot of traffic. It does get busy on weekends and late in the morning though and the parking lot is small, but there is nearby street parking. There is also a couple of small baseball fields for kids.

White River Amphitheatre

Reviewed By lorraine6225

The White River Amphitheater is an excellent location for summer concerts. It is very clean, highly organized and efficient getting into and out of the parking lot. It takes awhile but it is organized. They have an excellent system for alcohol monitoring and purchasing and have wonderful venues for food and merchandise shipping. The sound was great and there was plenty of space to stretch out. The only bad thing was not allowing blankets in the lawn. If you're going to do this out signs up in the parking lot. Many people threw away their blankets at the entrance. What a waste.

My husband and I love to tour breweries on our travels. The atmosphere and decor here are really nice but the beer was mediocre. This is a younger brewery though, so it's hopeful that their recipes will mature. The best beer was the brown. The IPA was too bitter for our liking, but we did enjoy the ciders. This is a great place to stop in Enumclaw but I would not go out of my way to visit this brewery.

Farm Shed Wines has a changing variety of boutique wines and hard cider. The quaint atmosphere at the farm is very relaxing and inviting. There is always something on their event calendar to do. Last summer we attended the Summer Soltice with friends at Farm Shed and had a fun evening mixed with wine, live music, delicious food and at dark the releasing of sky lanterns! So magical.
