I'd checked out a few places to go for a drink local to our hotel in Bruges. This seemed a positive place judging by the reviews. I was not disappointed. My husband loved the array of different beers and I loved the cellar/underground like atmosphere. Different clientele from oldies to youngsters. A great hour was spent here one evening. Would recommend!

If you are looking for a nice bar during the week when everything is closed, you need to go to La Casita. The barmaid is super nice and makes very good cocktails. The bar is not so big but that empowers the cozy atmosphere. After a drink or 2 you forget that you are in rainy Belgium and imagine yourself with your feet in the sand. Cheers

Surrounded by many excellent nearby eateries, barazar` lounge-bar is a great place to have a quiet drink and meet travellers and locals. The modern yet cosy all-evening bar (open 4pm - 1am) is the perfect setting to discover some of the finest of many Belgian artisan beers or a cool, cristal-clear draft. The bar also serves a fine selection of cocktails, including some of the world`s most famous, as well as a good selection of wines and spirits. Weather permitting, there is a terrace on one of the hotel`s inner gardens and especially noteworthy are the bar`s fine champagnes and cava wines on offer, to suit anyone`s budget.

The Brugse Gin Club Gin Bar & Store (BGC - Bruges Gin Club) offers the largest selection of gins in Bruges and the wide surroundings. Over 480 different gins are served in a small bar hidden in the heart of the historic centre between the Fish Market and the Botanic Gardens. The bar is only open during weekends from Friday to Sunday from 6pm and during school holidays. Owner-ginologist Edward welcomes you in the cozyiness of his kitchen and provides you with a personalized table service. If you get in, that is, because the door is closed and knocking is obligatory. The bar can accomodate only 20-odd patrons and strictly operates on a first come, first seated principe. Bookings are not accepted. Locals as well as visitors from all over the world come to the bar to escape the rush of touristic Bruges and relax in the laid back atmosphere garnished with classic and contemporary jazz.
Six of us visited this little bijou bar and had a whale of a time!! Edward was informative and attentive - the Gins were marvellous and Edwards help in mixing and matching was fab! We were a little shocked at the price, but actually decided it was well worth it if you think what a mediocre gin costs in a pub at home! Will definitely send friends your way Edward!!

Offering both cozy overnight accommodations and a café-restaurant and bar, Lokkedize is conveniently located in Bruges’ city center. The bar often features live jazz, rhythm and blues or singing—and stays open and serves late for evening film- and theater-goers.

Been coming here years and it never disappoints. Only problem is in the high season so difficult to get a table. Much easier in February. Fantastic ambiance, great service and fantastic beers especially the Garre house beer. I dream of coming here when I’m at work in the UK on a dull wet day. Have some cheese cubes and saucisson with Ghent strong mustard with your beer. Delightful.

This is the bar to relax in during and at the end of busy days in bustling Bruges. Obviously a favourite with the locals (always a good sign) the staff are attentive and friendly the ambience is excellent and liquid refreshment in abundance. The location (The fish market) is close to all the action without being part of it.

A small but well-regarded commercial beer company, De Struise Brouwers is the brainchild of two ostrich farm owners (and in fact, the brewery’s name is taken from the historic Flemish name for this bird). It produces award-winning, distinctive regional beers in its own microbrewery in West Flanders, making them available for sampling and sales to visitors.
