My wife and I went for a trip here in the summer and stop at one of the local restaurants for lunch and then off to flower pot island. Well worth the trip here! Flower pot island was really nice to see and hike. We only came up for the day and thought we might stay for the night if we liked it, but unfortunately this is a really busy place during the summer and everything was booked up. So we later decided to comeback with our son and his girlfriend at the end of month and spend the night. This is a cool little town to visit and take the boat tours and visit flower pot island. Absolutely beautiful clear water with great tours to go on. But don’t let the colour of the water fool you it’s extremely cold! Make sure you Book your tours and hotel in advance if your thinking of visiting here

I visited this place many times as a child. Took my Dad on his last trip to see the place where his Great Grandfather William Robert Kay was the official first Lighthouse Keeper from 1774 to 1899 and he passed away in 1901. Planning another trip here next year and also to nearby Goderich.

The Point Clark Lighthouse is a National Historic Site and was one of the first ‘imperial towers’ to flash its light. Six of these majestic towers were built by John Brown on Lake Huron and Georgian Bay in the 1850s. Built of limestone from nearby Inverhuron, the Point Clark Lighthouse stands 26.5 metres (80 feet) high, featuring 114 steps to get to the top. The stone tower is topped by a 12-sided lantern framed in cast iron, with a domed roof. A bronze lion head at each angle of the eaves directs rainwater away from the tower. The light stands 87 feet from the base of the tower. The lighthouse was acquired by Parks Canada in 1967 to commemorate the vital role of lighthouses in navigation on the Great Lakes. The lightkeeper’s dwelling, built at the same time as the Lighthouse, is now operated as a museum by the Township of Huron-Kinloss. The Point Clark Lighthouse is open for guided tours from the end of June to Labour Day.

While the lighthouse looks majestic, the views around the lighthouse are splendid. Take a few steps and you can dip your feet in the fresh cold crystal clear waters. Definitely one of the best instagrammable spots. Parking is limited and it's paid. Not stroller friendly as the path to the lighthouse is kinda rocky. Can definitely spend 30 to 45 minutes here.

WE ARE SORRY, BUT OUR SITE IS AGAIN CLOSED FOR THE 2018 SEASON, DUE TO SITE UPGRADES. WE HOPE TO RE-OPEN in 2019. Cabot Head Light Station is maintained by the Friends Of Cabot Head, a not-for-profit organization committed to keeping the heritage lighthouse and grounds open to public access as a tourism attraction, showcasing a museum in the historic lighthouse, picnic areas and walking trails. Situated at the end of a scenic drive some 10KM beyond the village of Dyers Bay, the area is a birder's paradise, and a great area for a picnic in the gardens or at the beach in Wingfield Basin, a ten minute stroll from the lighthouse. The museum itself showcases the history of lighthouses, the former light-keepers, the local industries (fishing and lumber) and the shipwrecks of Lake Huron and Georgian Bay. In addition there is a Nature Room interpreting the unique biosphere - the flora, fauna and geology of this part of the Niagara Escarpment.

A wonderful little lighthouse located at Lion's Head on the Bruce Peninsula in Ontario. It's the gateway to a municipal harbour, one of the deepest on Gerogian Bay. A peaceful place to relax in the summer and take in the crystal clear waters and magnificent cliffs just opposite the lighthouse. Winter is just as wonderful as the ice builds up on it and the stormy waves crash over the jetty. Well worth a stop in Lion's Head to see it.
This is a pretty little lighthouse that's been welcoming mariners to Lions Head Bay for many a year. It's a wooden structure painted red and white. Located at a marina that draws the crowds! Boat slips were full, people visiting this lighthouse and the beach, hiking along the trails/walkways. Many photographers present taking pictures of the beautiful scenery. The lighthouse with the Lions Head cliffs in the background and blue waters of Georgian Bay provide a delightful photo. Free, large parking lot. Store/bathrooms/benches/beach/walkway/boat ramps.
