Mission “To create a stimulating and enjoyable educational visual arts experience for the South Florida community exhibiting diverse Florida, national and international artists.” About Coral Springs Museum of Art What began late in 1996 as a City project to build a comprehensive recreation and community center, soon turned into The Coral Springs Center for the Arts – a performance theater and art museum. If you thought Wynwood was the only place to go to see large scale murals you might be surprised to see them popping up everywhere. While it is still the first place that comes to mind, many cities are adding murals to their cityscapes, including these 25 beauties throughout a nine-block area between U.S. 1 and Dixie Highway and Tyler and Van Buren streets in Hollywood. Hollywood started their mural project in 2012. Artists are selected by the Hollywood Redevelopment Agency and must agree to keep their murals free from politics and nudity. Artists who have participated in the program include local, national, and internationally recognized artists such as Tatiana Suarez, Rone, The London Police, Ernesto Maranje, Logan Hicks and Kenny Scharf. On the third Saturday of the month, Hollywood offers a free one hour walking tour of the murals. Tours meet at 6 PM at Anniversary Park. If you can't make the tour, you can download a mural map from the city website and do your own self guided tour. While I walked around I saw people using the murals for their photoshoots. The art adds so much interest and color to the downtown. My favorite murals are the sea turtle by artist Enesto Maranje and the show stopping flamingo covered building created by artist Key Detail in 2018. Finding the murals is fun and free activity. Come out and get some fresh air and exercise while discovering your own favorite work of art.

The Pocock Gallery has been a fixture on fashionable Las OLas Blvd. for over 27 years. Regarded as one of the premier art and antique galleries in Florida, Stuart Pocock offers museum quality original paintings by listed and nominated artist of the 19th and 20th Centuries. The gallery also displays an impressive selection of period antiques dating before 1840, as well as objects of virtue, export porcelain, silver, old Sheffield plate and decorative items. The gallery feels like a stately home and the art and antiques are displayed in true Salon-like settings. The Pocock gallery is located at the Himmarshee Building at 1200 East Las Olas Blvd. The building offers ample complimentary covered parking. The garage entrance is on the east side of the building, on Tarpon Drive. If you are a lover of fine art and genuine antiques, you should make it a point to visit this fine establishment. The internationally renowned artist Jamali has long attracted a select and international circle of collectors, drawn by his mystical style and charismatic persona. Jamali's artistic career had unconventional beginnings, true to the maverick's path that he always followed. Thirty years ago, a vision came to him and a dream guide commanded him to paint. In response, Jamali invented a unique style of "mystical expressionism," a marriage of contemporary consciousness and art's most ancient traditions. Jamali's fusion of these opposites--the contemporary and the timeless--has produced a life work unmatched in its scope, variety, and spiritual depth.
