Had lunch in the The Boards, Bistro - good food but the choice is not huge. Then on to the performance. From the ladies in the gift store who were so helpful, friendly and so patient, thank you. The woman who played Raffiki blew me away, she was incredible. The cast over all were fantastic I was blown away by you all. The singing in the cast was superb and so were the orchestra and percussion guys. Thank you for an amazing experience. It would be lovely if people who go to the theatre to see a one off show stop moaning about the seating, the Playhouse is an old building, built in 1929 and was initially a cinema. It seats just over 3000 people. Theatres are notoriously uncomfortable and hot. If you can't deal with a bit of heat and uncomfortable seating - don't go! It makes me cross when you were there to see the show and the artistry of the performers and musicians and with such an amazing performance, get over yourselves! Thank you to everyone at the Theatre. Thank you to an amazing cast and amazing musicians.

I had the most amazing time at this wonderful show. I feel for the cast and crew that the show has (unfortunately) had it's run abruptly shortened. I was fortunate enough to see it once every month (at least!) during its over 4 months (Dec 2019- March 2020) in Edinburgh! The singing, acting and dancing were all sensational and they are all very talented. I had to see it multiple times as it was pure escapism and brightened the long dark winter in Scotland. The use of puppetry and masks and full-scale animal costumes is very clever. The costumes are amazing for the lead characters especially Scar's outfit. The jokes were funny and the time flew by. I cannot recommend this show enough and I feel lucky to have seen it. I sat in a different place each time and because the Theatre is so big the view is great wherever you sit. I did sit in row L of the stalls (as a kind gift)- and that was amazing as *spoiler* the animals come down the aisles. The directors box was also a treat and offered a great panorama and sofa-like seats- felt like a VIP. I know those two seating areas are really expensive but they are worth it! It was an unforgettable time every time :) . Stay safe everyone!
