Over its almost 50 year history the Lion Park became Gauteng's number one tourist attraction through the friendliness of its staff and the amazing wildlife experience it offered. The new Lion and Safari Park has spared no expense in creating a world class tourist attraction in the heart of the Cradle of Humankind and looks forward to building on this success in the many years ahead. Attractions include: Guided game drives, Self-drive, Restaurants African Shopping Experience and more... Please note that animal interaction is no longer available at the Lion & Safari Park.
We visited the Lion and Safari park with 2 young children and we had such an amazing time. From the time that we went to the sales counter to buy the tickets, to the ordering of the photo’s and the cub interaction we were just treated with so much professionalism and friendliness. The guys at the cub interaction was absolutely brilliant and made it such a fantastic experience for the kids and they took the best photo’s ever! The Giraffe feeding was so much fun and what a fantastic experience to see the Lions being fed. Thank you for such an amazing day and we will definitely come and visit again!!!

We enjoyed a lot, very interactive experience with cultural show, dances, music, legends, nice photos. The food was not so good but acceptable. The menu included also ostrich and crocodile (look and taste like beaf meat and chicken)... we also took the opportunity to taste earthworms. It is an interesting experience to learn about the African ethnical culture.

Leaving the hustle of the city I feel my shoulders relaxing. This world heritage site is an amazing place with so much to do from hiking , camping ( in their tents ) mtb , 4x4 trail and even a restaurant. The hike was absolutely amazing level 4/10 with some steep climbs. It’s also good for beginners. I ambled along the crocodile river against the backdrop of slate mountains. I passed through white stink wood forest , the black slate wall , bamboo forests and climbed the mountain to enjoy the view of the meandering waters of the crocodile river rushing past a sheer cliff on its way to The Kruger National Park. I could see the nuclear plant on the opposite hill - it’s massive. I started at 10h40 took 3h30 back at 14h10 Almost died when I was confronted my a family of Linx ( Rooicat ) these wild predators took my breath away as they are incredibly beautiful creatures with striking features. I had a few baboons scurry in the veld as I passed but I’m at ease with them. All done - the owners Margaret and her husband Jean invited me to sit and have a beer with them where we discussed wildlife , animals on the farm and the farms history. This is where they invited me to look at a mural by “”Pierneef “”painted on the wall of the Farm house ( original Transvaal Architecture) What a delightful day out that concluded with laughter and chats ‼️‼️‼️‼️
