Broadstairs is a coastal town on the Isle of Thanet in the Thanet district of east Kent, England, about 80 miles (130 km) east of London. It is part of the civil parish of Broadstairs and St Peter's, which includes St Peter's, and had a population in 2011 of about 25,000. Situated between Margate and Ramsgate, Broadstairs is one of Thanet's seaside resorts, known as the "jewel in Thanet's crown". The town's crest's Latin motto is Stella Maris ("Star of the Sea"). The name derives from a former flight of steps in the chalk cliff, which led from the sands up to the 11th-century shrine of St Mary on the cliff's summit.

I remember this shop from many years ago when it was still a chemist and always loved the old medicine drawers that line the back wall. It’s lovely that the character of the original shop has been retained and they are still there. Arrowsmiths started as a small quirky gift shop and over the years has grown into a truly unique style of gift shop. You can sometimes pick up a cheaper little bargain but on the whole it’s not what most would call cheap. I am a firm believer that you do get what you pay for and it’s evident here. I live in Broadstairs and have been shopping at Arrowsmiths for years, often going in just to wander and “oo that’s lovely” at the gifts; but usually coming out with something! The staff that run the shop are lovely, so helpful and chatty which I find really nice. They’ve worked hard to become the amazing place it is and long may they do well in Broadstairs.

A traditional sweet shop in Broadstairs selling a variety of delicious sweets (inc sugar free & gluten free), chocolates and a range of modern favourites.
A great family run business with the added personal touch. A great selection of traditional sweets, something for everyone. Fabulous gift ideas, chocolate bouquets, sweet hampers, jars, tins. During lockdown this local business provided an excellent order and safe contactless delivery service so customers had something to look forward to during what was a very difficult time for everyone. There was no stress of queuing at the supermarket when you could browse their extensive stock list and order from the comfort of your own home. Sweet yesterday's continue to provide a great friendly service and I would highly recommend them. Well done guys, you have been amazing ????

Probably the best customer service that I have ever received. Thank you Annie! My daughter, her 4 year old and a one year old baby and I travelled from Folkestone to the shopping centre on Monday. We planned to eat at the Toby Carvery, Cross the road to the shops, go to guest services and hire two cars for the kiddies to sit in which would be a novelty for them. Unfortunately once there we were told that due to Covid no cars were being hired! We had driven from Folkestone so a fair way and the little granddaughter promptly burst into tears. We were about to just turn around and drive home when I decided to visit the guest service department. I cannot speak highly enough of Annie and astonishingly she arranged for two cars to be sanitised especially for us so that we could make our shopping a fun as well as practical experience . She gave the children a few sweets and odds and ends. To say that this kind action saved our day is completely true. We repaid her kindness by making sure that we purchased a winter coat for the little girl, plus a swimming costume for me from Debenhams and some little purchases in other smaller shops. Our total was around £65 spent and that money would have been lost to the shops if we had simply turned around and gone home. So her act of kindness was also a good business decision and that’s the key to being a first class customer service employee. The shops were all very strictly controlling their social distancing and mask wearing which was excellent and hand sanitiser was available everywhere. All the people we encountered were polite and friendly. For future customers they are hoping to have the car hiring facility up and running in September. We will definitely return. I was very impressed.
