You can park near Cromwell bottom just off the Elland Road or it is an easy walk along the canal tow path from Brighouse centre. Either way brings you to this lovely well cared for nature reserve. Plenty of paths to explore as well as areas to watch the varied bird population feeding. There is even a small cafe run by volunteers open on a weekend for a nice cuppa!

The Calder is Brighouse's number 1 venue. During the week you see a relaxed, classy bar with an award winning menu and brilliant value drinks prices. Its mellow colour schemes and background music makes it the perfect place to relax. On a Friday and Saturday night it becomes the number 1 party place! With DJ's playing both nights from 9pm until 1am and a range of fantastic drinks offers including Fihsbowls and Bombs it is definitely the place to be! Friday nights see's the best in Dance & RnB. Saturday nights take you back to your youth with 80's and 90's cheese pop. And for those planning ahead we have already begun taking Christmas Bookings!
I eat quite often at Calder Brighouse for lunch. Granted I probably wouldn't go at night as I am sure the atmosphere is different and it is more for the young ones. However for lunch it is great. The food is cheap but tastes lovely. The chocolate fudge cake is gorgeous and is the best I have ever had anywhere and it is worth going just for that!!

Amazing food!!! Had king prawns for starter and duck for main course! Was very good! 2 of my family and my boyfriend both had fillet steak, and this was cooked on a iron plate, where you cook it yourself to how you like it! Honestly, best steak I’ve ever tasted, and I get steak a lot!! Got a free chocolate fudge brownie cake for my birthday which was delicious! Waiter service was great, a guy who was possibly Italian? Lovely place, bit quiet for a Monday but that’s expected, but all around fantastic birthday meal! Would deffos return! ????????????
