A short trip to Bridgnorth Low Town on a heritage feature. The descent lasts only a couple of minutes, is good value return fare and our dog was free. The stop point is ideal for the Severn Valley Railway and river walks. We returned to High Town along the main road towards the Castle Gardens rather than the Funicular (only took a few minutes anyway). Worth a visit - young children would probably enjoy the experience. A little girl travelling in our 'car' was thrilled.

What a lovely and magical day out with our 9 month old baby. We can't wait to bring her again as she's gets older. Can't believe there are negative reviews, people just love to moan I guess! The woodland walk is magical with so many quirky little features for children to explore, there's even den building and climbing ropes! There is a lovely variety of animals and it's such a great experience being able to freely explore the goat pen! Definitely our little girl's favourite part. We can't wait for her to play in the sand pit play area and other little play area when she's abit older, it's fab!!

We visited the Ship on a family break as 3 families. Lovely pub nestled on the River Severn. I had a carvery and it was delicious. Plenty of meat carved by the very friendly chef. £9 on a Sunday was very reasonably priced. Staff were friendly and helpful. Gorgeous weather made it a memorable day out.

Upton Cressett Hall is a privately owned Elizabethan House open to groups all year by appointment or individuals through 'Invitation to View' on selected open days. The holiday accommodation available all year round and can sleep up to 14. The historic Elizabethan Gatehouse and two cottages in the courtyard. The Hall has an extraordinary history with guests including the Prince in the Tower, Prince Rupert and Baroness Thatcher. A magical step back in time with delicious cakes and tea served in a medieval tea tent or the Great Hall dining room. Winner of Best Hidden Gem in the UK at 2011 Hudson's Heritage Awards.

We were fortunate enough to spend a glorious weekend at UC with the owners, William and Laura. The love and care put into restoring this Elizabethan Hall surpasses anything I have seen before. Every room is beautifully restored and decorated - the beds big and comfortable, spectacular painted ceilings and walls by the renowned artist Adam Dant, a superb gatehouse, a spiral staircase up the tower, freestanding baths, beautiful gardens and then there are the cottages to rent as well! The whole place is a dream - romantic, comfortable and the wonderful feeling of going back in time. And of course William and Laura have a wealth of knowledge when it comes to history and literature, not to mention millinery - Laura makes incredible hats and has her studio in the grounds. We can't wait to be invited to stay again or if lock down returns, move into one of the cottages for a month or 2!
