National Cemetery of the Alleghenies

My Brother-in-Law was buried here in July and it was my first time at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies. I was speechless! What a fitting tribute to those who have served our country. Because of there sacrifices, we enjoy our freedom. I only wish I would have thanked him personally while I had the chance. These brave Men and Women paved the way for us to live the lives we do. Make some time, visit for the day and honor these true heroes for what they have given us.

My husband and I visited here for the first time on a cold April Friday morning. We reserved a bay ahead of time, which was free if you did it for 10:15 on a weekday morning. We wanted to take advantage of the $15 per person unlimited time for 2 hours that they have on weekday mornings. We brought our own clubs, and at first I thought I was going to freeze, but they do a good job heating the place. The waitress that was in charge of our bay was super friendly and attentive. We only ordered some vitamin water but she kept coming to check on us and made sure that we understood how to play the game before getting started. Different employees kept coming by and asking if we needed anything as well. It felt like we were at the driving range with a computer keeping score. Although it did not register when we got the ball into the target some of the time, it was still a lot of fun. We only paid $36 (which included the drinks) for the 2 hours we were there so I didn’t think it was too pricey. Since they only offer that special weekday mornings, I’m sure we would have spent a lot more going in the evening or on the weekend. You were supposed to wear your mask the whole time you were there except for eating and drinking and you are separated from each bay by plastic sheeting. They did have people on either side of us but it felt separated enough to not feel crowded. The environment seemed clean, including the restrooms. I can’t wait to come back again!
