If you're lucky enough to discover Aspetuck Brew Labs in the Black Rock section of Bridgeport, you won't be disappointed. First and foremost, their beer is outstanding, top-notch, second to none. Regardless of the style (IPA, Sour, Stout, etc.), anything which you try there will be delicious although his area of expertise seems to be beers w/ high ABV's that are easy to drink, a skill that speaks for itself. The atmosphere & flavor of the taproom is fantastic, & the only thing that may be better than the beer itself is the wonderful folks who work there that make you feel welcome from the get go. Pete & his staff have created a unique craftbrew establishment that is the best possible example of where the world of microbrews has evolved to in the modern era. I always bring home either a growler, a growlito, or some cans of his beer to turn on friends back home in New York. They are routinely impressed w/the taste/quality of his product, even if they are not sophisticated beer drinkers. Invariably, I always run into another brewer from Ct. or somewhere in New England when I'm there. What bigger compliment than the fact that knowledgeable people who are also brewers come to visit Aspetuck to talk shop as well as to quaff his delicious product. "Nuff said!
