Turtle walks are held in June and July.
We didn't have any plans for Thursday and found out about the sea turtle preservation society via TripAdvisor. We decided to stop and we are so pleased that we did. The clerk, Donna, was very enthusiastic about what the society does. She was so kind, and helpful. She told us about a turtle release that was happening that afternoon further south of Melbourne. She took the time to give us directions and show us exactly how to get to that beach section and park. We were able to find the spot and participate in the release of two turtles. It made our day. My husband and I could not have been happier. They also have great T-shirts and other gifts that of course pertain to turtles. They also provide an educational experience about turtles. It is well worth a stop.

Explore the world of animals at Brevard Zoo, an internationally accredited facility home to giraffe, rhinos, big cats and hundreds of colorful parrots. Interactive experiences include giraffe and bird feedings, a children's water play area and kayaking around animal habitats.
My wife and I sited the Brevard zoo with our two granddaughters and their parents. And I have to say everyone had a GREAT time from the youngest (2 years old) to The oldest (67years old). It is hard to capture all the things we saw! There were whole sections we didn't even get to. This zoo is vast for a venue that was originally a community development built by local volunteers. The Africa section with the rhinos and feeding the giraffe was a huge hit. The lorikeet experience of hand feeding the birds had the girls speechless. They could hardly believe it as three lorikeets landed on mommy's arm and ate nectar from the cup. A must see for everyone! The train ride allows you to cool off and see some of the back areas with camels and Oryx and ostrich. The paws on splash pad must be last with the little ones, because you can never get the to leave. We never even got to kayaking or tree top treck. As far as favorites i would say the girls liked the meerkats and The jaguar. They laughed endlessly at the playful meerkats. At the jaguar, the four year old sat down by the window just as the older male walked over and sat down right in front of her and started to roar for several minutes. Our granddaughter was convinced the jaguar was talking to her. The zoo was a massive hit with everyone young and old !!! We will be back several times yearly now that we have experienced the fun!

You’ll have an incredible experience at Jetty Park! We used to own a house in Ocean Woods walking distance to Jetty Park, 20 years ago and those days are unforgettable. Now we’re back to the area and Jetty Park is my favorite spot. You can go fishing there, you can watch the Kennedy Space Center Nasa lift off space shuttles and rockets, you can camp there, very secured and organized and clean, you can see the cruise ships going out to the ocean like a Godzilla in front of your eyes! There are incredible restaurants near by on the water, and inside the park, walks on the beach in a nice warm Florida sun, children are so happy there, as my daughter was, growing up. I highly recommend the Jetty Park to everyone!!! There are little creatures living there such as squirrels, etc and there are cars walking around too, they live there for years!!! Nice showers to use after you go to the beach, easy parking. My family and friends always had lots of fun there. Take one or few days and you’ll love it! Enjoy

We had never seen a scrub jay "in person" until we visited this vegetation rich preserve where we saw many of these blue birds. They seemed to magically appear, and as we watched them - they watched us. Some even swooped down & landed on our head! We learned that Florida scrub jays are found only in Florida scrubland and have been in Florida for at least two million years. Cruickshank Sanctuary is certainly worth a visit. We plan to return again!
