Ahoy Kitsap Playland

Ahoy Kitsap Playland is the area's premier indoor playground to blast boredom away, get kids active, and build fun memories with friends. Ahoy Kitsap Playland also hosts the best birthday parties for miles around and we make it easy so you can enjoy every minute of your party!

We visited Kitsap Playland for the first time in early January 2020 for my nephew's 2nd birthday. The birthday was a small gathering of immediate family members so the private party room wasn't rented - we just arrived at the same time and enjoyed the public areas. We arrived promptly at 10:00 when it opened and I was surprised so many other parents had the same idea. There was already a line to get in and by 10:30, I'd estimate there were about 25 kids running around. The small toddler area was perfect for our 17 month old. He loved stacking the giant (soft) blocks and knocking them down. There also a small slide, plastic food cart, and other toys for imaginative play. Our near-3-year-old liked the big kid area and could tackle every obstacle by himself except the rope tree. (There were some large kids playing roughly on it during most of our stay and I didn't want our son to get hurt). He also enjoyed the bounce house and the foot-powered cars that are available for free. Despite all the little hands that touch everything, the Playland was incredible clean and well kept. I'm pretty sure they even wax the slides because they went FAST! We will definitely be back!

Kiwanis Park

Reviewed By chimakuni - Seattle, United States

This park is in the middle of a residential area and has a bit of everything for everyone. It has a picnic shelter, which is great for the northwest. It has swings and slides and climbing for all ages. The walking path is good and level for those who have difficulty walking but wish to be able to get some exercise in. The soccer field in the upper part of the park is a fun place to watch games being played out by some talented athletes. Overall - this is a hidden gem of a park in the middle of Bremerton. If you park on 5th street, you will have two hours of free parking, versus parking on 4th street, where it is only paid parking parallel to the park.

Rodeo Drive-In Theater

Reviewed By warpedmama55 - Silverdale, United States

The Rodeo Drive-in has been open since 1949. The current owners took possession in 1986 and have made huge improvements, including two new playgrounds and an awesome concession stand. The Rodeo is the largest outdoor theater complex in Washington State, and the largest and oldest family owned drive-in in the Northwest. The theater boasts 3 screens and can handle 1,000 vehicles. If you drive a truck or SUV, those large vehicles are okay to park on the ends of the rows or the back rows so smaller cars have an unimpeded view of the screens. The fields are maintained and the stand of trees on the perimeter provide a peaceful backdrop. On clear nights the stars are amazing! The owners are super friendly, but they are strict about enforcing the rules so that all visitors can enjoy a safe and pleasantly relaxing experience, and they provide security personnel who monitor all 3 fields. You can bring your own food, but it's more fun to visit the concession stand. It boasts a large variety of food, snacks, and beverages, plus friendly, helpful staff. FYI, the Philly cheesesteak sandwiches are DA BEST!!! The restrooms are updated and are located inside the concession building. Did I mention that there are ALWAYS 2 movies per screen? It's true and there's nothing quite like enjoying first-run movies under the stars on a warm summer's evening. It's a great value for families, seniors and outdoor enthusiasts alike. Oh, and they also have a swap meet every Sunday morning, June through August. Dogs are okay as long as they are quiet. You can walk them or throw Frisbees to them. If you like the fresh air, you can put a mattress or chairs in the bed of a pickup or sit in yard chairs in front of your vehicle. My husband and I go almost every weekend and we take our boom-box (great for bass-enhanced soundtracks), yard chairs, and a TV table to play cribbage on while waiting for the show to begin. It's a great place to bring your kids and grandkids, too. The theater has gone digital so you'll want to use your vehicle radio or bring a boom-box with FM to listen to the show. If you use your vehicle radio and your battery goes dead you will get a free jump. You can also rent a portable radio if your vehicle radio doesn't work. We didn't have any handheld electronics way back in the 50's and 60's when I was a child… but I do have great memories of going to the drive-in, so we take our grandchild with us to make new memories for her. It sure beats the children being glued to their electronics!
