Walking around Recife Antigo is one of the best thing to do if you want to visit places that show the meaning of the city. The district is full of museums, gallery arts, vintage architecture, bars, coffee shops and everything affordable. I strongly recommend.

Well, we really went to this for a restaurant, but once we got there we really enjoyed the village atmosphere, all the water, marina, private boats, all the variety of handicrafts stores — we even bought a few items of souvenirs made of shells; it’s amazing to see a whole skirt made of oysters shells; necklace, bracelet, children toys, etc. really charming also is the tiny yellow chapel uphill. If am back to Florianopolis, I’ll return here. But attention: you will need a car to drive here.

In this neighborhood you can visit craft stores, and good restaurants and have a nice view of the sunset. Worth’s the visit.

It takes a bit of doing to get to the rubber museum. A long boat ride after a long drive out to Ponta Negra. But it's worth it. The site was originally built for a movie, but it appears authentic. You really need a guide to explain things as the signage is not great. You get a great idea of what life as a rubber baron as well as life as a worker was like. One of the highlights of Manaus.

Olinda worths a day-trip when you are in Recife and have some time to spare. I recommend to take a taxi/uber and start your visit from the Cathedral and then walk down the hill and aprecciate the archicteture , the local artist ateliers and the amazing view of the see.

Great restaurants, very nice place to visit and view the ocean near the old church. Cute little stores.
