What to do and see in Bratislava, Bratislava Region: The Best Points of Interest & Landmarks

February 10, 2022 Nobuko Falco

Stare Mesto, the Old Town of Slovakia's capital, whisks visitors back a few centuries as they wander cobblestone streets, admire the Baroque architecture, enjoy summer and Christmas concerts at Old Town Hall and while away time at cafes and restaurants. Venture beyond for more sites, including the 15th-century hrad (castle) with its treasury and history and music museums, the Slovak National Theater and the Slovak Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Slovak National Gallery, housed in an 18th-century palace.

UFO Observation Deck

Iconic building, symbol of Bratislava. Our elevator will take you in 45 seconds from 0 to speechless amazement. At the height of 95 meters, with a line of sight to 100 km you will truly know the magic of the building, which finishes the inherent part of the city's silhouette on Danube. If you feel like seeing the city from a birds perspective, experiencing a perfect view, or capturing a beautiful sunset over Danube, you won't find a better place for it. Visit us daily from 10am to 11pm.

Situated across the river it's easy enough to get to and you can hardly miss it on the horizon! It is suprisingly cheap - under 8 euros - to visit the Observation deck - the views are spectacular as you would imagine - you have the top part of the structure where you can go outside and get some great pictures over Bratislava including fantastic views of the castle, then one floor below is the bar/restaurant areas - again, you can eat or just stop for a (reasonably priced) beer. One small, but unique feature are that the toilets are on the outer edge of the observation deck which means you can sit and relieve yourself whilst looking out over Bratislava. Amazing. If you're in this cute little city, this is a must visit !
