Fifty miles of trails to bike, hike, rollerblade and snow-mobile, depending on the season.
I grew up in the area, less than a mile from this trail, I can still remember when it was a railroad track and the trains would roar past in the middle of the night. When it was paves and converted to a bike trail my friends and I rode it 100's of times. I still take my young daughter riding the trail when we visit my folks.

Brainerd Zip Line Tour is a guided 2 and 1/2 hour experience including seven zip lines, one suspension bridge, and an optional 50' free fall experience. See the Brainerd Lakes area like never before!
The Brainerd Zip Line tour was great fun for our group of 5 teenage cousins some of which had never zip lined. It was extra safe with a body harness. The free fall at the end gave everyone bragging rights. Thanks Maria! Enjoy your bragging rights!

Stopped here at the end of our day before going out to dinner. Beer was good. Big place. There were a couple of meetings going on. Bartenders were not as friendly as the other breweries we went to. Had 1 beer and left. Beautiful place though.

Upon recommendation from my brother we decided to try Ernies. I'm sure glad we did! We went for an evening dinner and were seated on the patio right next to the lake! What a beautiful setting! The food was great as well. I had the philly steak sandwich - the best ever! We liked it so much we came back the next day for lunch. Just as good! We will definitely be back.

Three Bear Waterpark and Craguns Laser Tag is a great place for families to have fun in the Brainerd Lakes Area. Our 30,000 square foot Waterpark has body and tube slides, lazy river, activity pool, hot tubs, and a 1,000 gallon splash bucket. Our state of the art Laser Tag arena will get your heart racing as you battle friends and try to defend your base. Have fun in our 2 arcade game rooms.
There are never clean towles.
When attendants are paying attention they do a good job, but the kids water slide only had someone there 50% of the time.
They allow people to swim, stand and wrestle in the lazy river. Makes it very difficult to be lazy or relaxing at all.
Not enough tubes. Getting a tube was like winning the lottery and they were not eilven all that busy.
Food was alright and prices were in line with what was expected.
Also open tables are hard to find, and tables in general seem to be an afterthought and are placed in the walk ways.
However water temp was perfect and temp inside was nice.
The kids had fun, and with a little more effort this place could be great.
Next time we might try another place, but would return here.

Destiny Cruises' luxury yacht, the North Star, docks and departs from Ernie's on Gull Lake.
We were looking for a way to see Gull Lake and are not boaters ourselves. Destiny Cruise was a great find! I booked on Friday before our Monday cruise. I didn't receive an email confirmation, but called Monday morning to make sure we were registered (which we were). When we go to Ernie's (where the website says it's located), the hostess told us that the dock was actually on the other side of the road. A sign pointing towards the dock would be nice (I'm sure there have been others that stopped in at Ernie's and needed to be redirected). After finding the dock, we were there about 25 minutes early. The website says boarding is 30 minutes prior, but a sign on the dock said 15 minutes. Not a big deal, since we then were early and not late. The cruising group was small, so we had plenty of space/snacks/drinks/attention. We all sat on the upper deck; it was a hot and humid day, but on the lake it was comfortable. The people in my party have some ambulatory difficulties, but they took it slow up the stairs and did fine. The crew was helpful and courteous. I didn't look at the downstairs or use the restrooms. Captain Jay was very knowledgeable about historical places along the shore. We cruised a few weeks after a big storm, so we saw a lot of the damage and Captain Jay explained how the shoreline had changed. He pointed out several homes of famous people, and also the big resorts. Craig(?) was also very knowledgeable and friendly. I was given the opportunity to steer for part of the cruise, which was extremely fun! Our bartender was great! We would definitely go back on a Destiny Cruise!

This was another stop on our weekend taproom tour of taprooms in lake country. Do yourself a favor and just keep on going up to big axe. It's a big space and perhaps a happening spot in the summer but in the winter, it was a little lackluster. They offer a flight of 8 that they had on tap but we asked for a smaller version and got a flight of 4. The price is reasonable, 4 samples for $8 but the size of the flight pours is probably 2ounces...maybe 3oz. They were tiny and hardly offer a chance to really taste the beer, which ended up being ok... With so many options, I'm not sure this one is worth your time.

We stopped in here twice on our trip. The first time we were the only people in the whole place. It was Tuesday after Labor Day so that's probably why. Had a flight and a beer and talked to the bartenders for over an hour. We went back on our last day to get a growler to take home. It was busy the 2nd time. Nice seating area outside and lots of room inside. Loved it!

Fifteen-mile long lake whose surrounding area is connected to various restaurants and accommodations.
We rented a pontoon for our extended family and had a great time. Also, it was fun to fish off the dock and our kids had fun going tubing on Gull Lake!

Had an amazing time at the NHRA drags, helpful event staff and volunteers. Too bad trying to leave Sunday was over an hour just sitting in the car watching staff and volunteers leave through their own gate. I would suggest that they stay to direct traffic until the people that paid to be there are on the move.
