This place is not exactly near Berhampur but its about 2 hrs drive around 120 kms away from Berhampur. The best route us via Digapahandi and Chandragiri area. Its a refugee camp set up by the Tibetian Refugees after they migrated to India around 1965. Its a very peaceful, calm and isolated place where the Tibetian people have made it of their own and one can see terrace farming concept on their way to the monastry. One can feel the coolness, silence and the freshness about the place. Its an extremely clean place and one cannot believe it to be in Odisha state, it gives a feeling of north east. Apart from the monastery, there is a spiritual garden where one can spend some time to rejuvinate. There are not many options of shopping or food, so its better to carry own food but make sure not to litter there. On the way there is a village named Lugagudi where one can get good and tasty food in the Dhaba. All in all one can spend a day at Jiranga by starting in the morning and back by evening
