New to Shipley! A fully immersive game experience where you and your team must work against the clock to follow clues, solve puzzles and find your escape before your time runs out!
I played X-Initiation at the beginning of March (luckily just before the lockdown), X-it's mobile game where they take the escape experience to you. I am an Escape Room lover and have done many different Escape Rooms before but this was my first experience of a mobile version. I have to admit, at first I was a bit sceptical about how the enjoyment would compare to being in an actual escape room with all the bells and whistles, but I was pleasantly surprised that this did not disappoint! It was thoroughly enjoyable and exciting, with a good level of challenge. I was in a group of 4, with 2 of us being quite experienced with escape rooms, and we both enjoyed the experience, finding some of the tasks/puzzles quite challenging to work out. We completed it in good time within the allocated hour, but felt involved and busy throughout. It doesn't take up much room, we had it all fit on one table, but I suppose you could have it dotted about in different parts of the room if you wanted. Our host Clare was delightful, arrived on time and was very prompt in answering if we were stuck and needed help. I highly recommend this mobile experience, what a great idea that the escape room can come to you! Can't wait to go there and play Afterlife!

Laserzone is a family entertainment experience like no other; Using state-of-the-art, LaserForce Gen7 lasertag vests, you score points by tagging your opponents and deactivating them for a short time - you can even earn extra points or special powerups by deactivating the bases and video targets inside the arena (but be careful, they can shoot back!). The game is played in our professionally themed, 8,000 square foot laser arena, filled with special effects lighting, great music and theatre grade artificial fog, all creating an exciting atmosphere, adding to the overall game experience.

A party of thirteen of us had a fascinating guided tour of this amazing place, our guide was extremely knowledgeable and amusing and we all enjoyed the tour immensely. We had a warm welcome at the lodge when we arrived and after a background talk about the history of the cemetry it was out into the icy February breeze for our tour! Well worth going even on such a chilly day - I'm sure we will be planning a return visit in warmer weather. The cemetery is maintained and run by volunteers who are doing a wonderful job.
