West Bradford is a private members golf club set around a historic 300 year old Grade II listed Clubhouse, lying between the ancient village of Allerton to the south and Heaton to the north. The course is just six miles from Haworth, home of the Bronte’s. The club was originally founded by a group of wealthy textile barons in 1900. The construction of the course was entrusted to James Carter & Co. of London, who had developed the Old Course at Sunningdale Golf Club a few years earlier. In the 1940’s the course was completely redesigned, and two brand new holes were added, by golf course architects Hawtree + Son – the renowned family firm of architects behind the design of Royal Birkdale, Hillside Golf Club and Foxhills. The Hawtree layout has been preserved, and the course plays exactly how architects F.G. Hawtree & his son F.W. Hawtree designed it to be played over 60 years ago. West Bradford boasts one of the finest and most characterful parkland courses in the region.

Planned venue waterlogged. We were mentally prepared for a knock. We settled on driving range. We were unaware of their Trackman facilities. What a blast it turned out to be. The staff were so helpful and before long we were oohing and ahing as we compared our shots on the virtual course we selected. We will return. John b Bradford

Just returned from another super few hours at St Ives with our grandsons aged 8 & 6. Firstly we visited the huge play area , so many things to climb on , spin on and swing on ???? Then up to the lake fir a lovely walk and to feed the ducks with a slight detour up the hillside to build a lean too den out of fallen branches, the boys love being creative in their design of woodland den. Then back down and a visit to the cafe. ( separate review ) It's a super place to visit with the boys or for a good walk. No hesitation in recommending St Ives estate.
