BDT Stage has been Boulder's Dinner Theatre since 1977. BDT Stage mounts award-winning productions of Broadway favorites as well as a variety of concert and cabaret performances, with dinner served at your table by the performers.
I saw Mama Mia! In NYC, and I have to say, with the exception of the size of the theatre and the more lavish set, these performers nailed it. We found this by accident, as our 18 yo niece with sophisticated taste in entertainment sent us on a hunt for something to do during her visit to Colorado. I will be attending all the upcoming shows. The food, the staff (which is surreal to have Donna complete a set and then come over to your table to pour you coffee during intermission!) and the entertainment was well worth the price.

Thé venue had great sound and the drinks were priced fairly. There is a bar attached to the venue, thar enables you to direct enter the thearter without the need to wait outside. We would go there again...

This place definitely caters to a mellow college crowd (which isn't us anymore) but even so, it made for a great experience (mellow is good as we get older, right?) The staff was friendly, the merch booth was set up in such a way that you could easily talk to the band, see the stuff and still get out the door without traffic flow issues. The stage area is well set up with "balconies" and places to lean. They were also smart and provide coat hooks on the undersides of the drink / leaning areas, so you don't have to worry about carrying your coat around on those "freezing outside but too warm inside cause you've been dancing your face off with a crowd" nights. Oh, and parking wasn't nearly the issue I expected it to be in downtown Boulder (at least not on a weeknight). We found parking for free right across the street (metered earlier in the day, but not in the evening). Sweet! We loved seeing Too Many Zoos and Thumpasaurus a second night (the night before we saw them at the Bluebird) and will totally be back when our favorite bands come through.
