Calling themselves "the soul of the coast," the residents of Boothbay Harbor are proud of their seaside town, with its bright summer colors and beautiful snowy winters. A popular sailing and kayaking destination, Boothbay offers more than just boats. There's delicious seafood, seasonal festivals, and plenty of nature trails to explore. Kids will love visiting Fritz, the 23 pound lobster at the Maine State Aquarium, while adults enjoy jazz concerts or comedy shows at the historic Opera House.

Great collection of local artist's work. If you are looking for something to remind you of your trip to coastal Maine (Downeast), this place is one-stop shopping. Purchased an item perfect for completing a room in our home in Tampa and Susan shipped it directly to us. Great place to bring home some truly unique art.

OPEN MEMORIAL DAY THRU EARLY OCTOBER. This is a seasonal, one-woman working studio with all pottery being made on-site by the shop owner. The potter's wheel is located in the front of the shop and customers are encouraged to watch Julie throwing her pieces there. The glaze/kiln area is open for viewing as well. Questions about the pots and process are always welcome. Her work focuses on functional, practical pottery meant to be used and to enhance your quality of life on a daily basis. Functional pottery - Art for everyday life!
Just received my beautiful new shaving scuttle. It's heats the lather perfectly and helps give me an awesome shave. I highly recommend Dirty Bird Pottery!

A Seasonal Dinner Theater in Boothbay Harbor, Maine. We celebrate the singers and songs of the Great American Songbook from the 1940's-1970's in our original comedy revues. During late July and early August we offer a carefully selected book musical for your entertainment. Enjoy our three course hot Maine fare dinner, while our Cast, who are also the wait-staff sing a cabaret. Following the second course the cast will depart the auditorium to change into costume to begin the entertainment portion of your evening. We serve dessert to our all guest so even if you are joining us just for the show we will offer you dessert at intermission as well. (Wednesday matinees are available during July and August and feature cold and hot salads and sandwiches.)
Great little dinner theater where new actors can get experience and earn money waiting on tables too.

The Opera House was built in 1894 and is on the National Historic Registry. Each year nearly 100 live performances come to the old stage and include Grammy winners, international touring musicians and more. Expect to see a schedule filled with jazz, folk, classical, bluegrass, Celtic, country, and regionally-inspired music. The stage is also periodically home to theatre, comedy, magic and more. Open year 'round including December's Gingerbread Spectacular! Updated performance schedule on the website. Handicapped accessible. Bar open on the night's of performances.
My husband and I attended 2 performances at this place and were very pleased with both, quality, etc. the opera house is a lovely old building with wood floor and a beautiful bar area upstairs. Nice seating and a comfortable balcony seating. Wonderful way to spend an evening if you’re in the Booth Bay HARBOR area.

We didn't go to the Library this year but the used bookstore is still open, by appointment. The selection is as grand as usual we love to just browse. We have had great luck with the Military History sections, poetry, religion and the potpourri of books on the wall to the left of the register desk, really an eclectic selection. Allow at least an hour. Also and I forgot to add this to my review of the Skydompha Library Used Book store in Damiriscotta, bring any books (or CDs, DVDs) you can to donate them. They will be found and enjoyed by someone else and the library will get the benefit from the sale, they get a good chunk of money every year from this store.

I stop by here every time I'm in town for the summer. Terrific collection for gifts (and for self!). The annual calendar is a fixture in my study, and never fails to transport me to the Maine coast with just a glance.
