The TV tower is litterally the largest landmark at Bokn. With a high point of 294 metres above sea level, Boknafjellet has been an important landmark for seafarers for thousands of years. When the Dutch and other nationalities came sailing in towards the Norwegian coast, Buch van See - the Dutch name for Bokn, was the first place they saw. For seafarers Bokn Mountain has always been an important navigational point. Boknafjellet was the highest point between Jaeren and Bomlo, and was therefore chosen as location for a transmitter for the entire region when television came to Norway in 1960. The transmitter at Bokn was completed in 1961 and provides large parts of the population in Rogaland with good radio and TV signals. The view from the top of Boknafjellet is breathtaking. You can drive almost all the way to the top. The last kilometer, you`ll have to walk along a gravel road. Bokn Mountain (294 m) is the highest point between Siggjo in Bomlo and Synesvarden in Jaeren. On a clear day one can see large parts of Rogaland and Hordaland from here.

In Loden by Klepp there stands a German fortress from The Second World War. Here are the remains of bunkers, ammunition storage, trenches, gun sites, field hospital, officer barracks, crew barracks, the roadside check point and much more. Together with Fjoloy Fort in the south and the fortification in Skudeneshavn in the west, the Germans were able to block the seaward approach to both the Boknafjord and the Karmsund strait. The area is easily accessible on foot and by bicycle.

Bokn Church is the only church at Bokn. It`s a traditional wooden long church and it was consecrated in 1847 and seats 300 persons. The altarpiece from 1924 is painted by Ole Frovig (Haugesund). Bokn was established as a separate church parish, with its own church and priest, in the early 12th century. The Middle Ages church was a stave church, erected in the same area where the present day church stands. The stave church was replaced by a wooden church in 1686. The building of the present day church, which was designed by castle architect Hans Linstow, was completed in 1847, three years before Bokn became a separate municipality
