A rugged and recommended whale-watching promontory along the California coast.
It was very cold and windy (at least 20mph) that day! as you climb up the trails (they are everywhere) the wind almost knocks you over watch your camera lens because it will be full of salt water spray so bring something to wipe it off with.
It was just beautiful no whales (darn)

Challenging windsurfing beach located in Bodega Bay.
This beach is sheltered from large waves and is excellent for beach coming or just wading. The water is very cold, and great white sharks are in the area , so swimming out from the shore is not recommended. But we took our son here when he was a toddler, so it is a safe beach to play and wade in with no dangerous waves.

A landmark from an Alfred Hitchcock film.
We just stopped and took pictures as it is a private residence now. Great to see to help with the movie The Birds. Pictured it in my mind as being closer to the water due to the movie. A very interesting building.

That's about it, folks. You will remember this from "The Birds", take your picture there for kicks. Then go somewhere else, because there's nothing else here to see.

I need not discuss the memorial itself. Google it and you will understand the poignant story. Park at the Community Center/garden or Sunday Farmer's market. The signs point you to memorial. Read the plaques, look at all the bells, and meditate a moment on the brevity of life and how we are all connected. There is a path beyond the memorial that takes you into a small camping area. We walked the path and then returned to our car. The tower not something you expect to see in Bodega Bay. Recommended.

Tiny cramped visitor center but pretty well stocked with maps and guides of sights in the area. Staff person was fairly efficient and informative. Plenty of parking but adjoining a gas station so lots of cars going in and out. No restroom facilities so a bit disappointing after a long drive.

The Bodega Head Ride is a very low traffic road with large bicycle lanes in both directions. It is a 4 mile one way ride along the bay the entire time ending at the beautiful Bodega Head State Park. There are three other parks, a restaurant and UC Davis's Bodega Marine Laboratory to visit along the way. This is a perfect ride for every weather condition also. A great and affordable way to experience Bodega Bay. There is a full service Bicycle Shop with rentals at the beginning of the ride. Have Fun!
Such a wonderful road with views for photos and take your binoculars. Make sure you take the trail to Bodega Rock to see the seals and hear them barking. Such a thrill for us animal and nature lovers. Without the binoculars all we could have done is heard them and would have been disappointed. Also our first trip we got there at 6:00pm on Weds. and all the wonderful restaurants were closed. That was disappointing. Highly recommend it.

The sights and smells along the trail were spectacular on this warm spring day. We loved looking around the tidepools on the beach. Check the tables and go when the tide is out for the best experience

Went here to draw the ocean marsh and birds and found lots to see. Many birds and many nice marsh/bay views. Nice walking trails too.
