Jeff and Janice Hanneman opened Sycamore Lake Wine Company in October 2013, with the tremendous effort of family and freinds. We strive to offer a memorable experience through great service and great wine. We are commited to making exceptional Ohio wines. We feature a nice selection of red and white wines, from sweet to dry made on premises by Jeff. We also have a nice variety of appetizers that pair well with all of our wines. While enjoying a glass of wine, browse through our gift area for that unique wine themed gift or accessory. Relax in our comfortable tasting room, on our patio, or stroll through our vineyard surrounded by a 17 acre lake and covered bridge.
First visit to the Winery... we attended a Kiwanis Club fundraiser. The inside of the building is beautiful, the setting is peaceful with a lake and covered bridge, the food and wines were just perfect.
Looking forward to going back and relaxing with a few couples or with my girlfriends. Plan to buy some of the wines by the case.

I was raised in the Mennonite Church and wholeheartedly support the missions of Mennonite Central Committee (MCC) which receives the profits from the Et Cetera Shop. Back in the day, I used to depend on it for entertainment, clothes, furnishings and household goods. I recently visited for the first time in years and the Old Gray Mare just isn't what she used to be. Items were mostly junk that shouldn't have even been put on the shelf and it seemed there was little pride or effort in keeping the shop. It was really disappointing. The current manager and all employees should visit the stores in West Liberty and Plain City which are clean, well lit, clearly organized, and signed to see how an Et Cetera Shop should be be run.

Ten Thousand Villages in Bluffton, Ohio, is a fair trade retailer of artisan-crafted home decor, personal accessories and gift items from across the globe. Featuring products from more than 130 artisan groups in some 38 countries, we are part of a network of over 390 retail outlets throughout the United States selling Ten Thousand Villages products.
I am always amazed at the unique gifts found at Ten Thousand Villages. The items range from jewelry and scarves to candy and dishes and clothing. There is certainly something there for everyone and the sales help are wonderful. Remember, the items are made by others in under-priviledged countries and the help are mostly volunteers. The money is given to the artisians to help support their families. Wonderful store!

The Bluffton Public Library is a well-stocked and well equipped library. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. The children's programs are excellent. The library offers programs throughout the year. There are yoga classes, a spring tea, summer reading for children and adults, and visiting authors. For the community the size of a Bluffton the library is an exceptional community asset.

Motter Metro Park is a newer metro park on the Southwest side of Bluffton, not far from the downtown and the Bluffton University campus. There are no directional signs for it on I-75 or on Main Street in Bluffton, so use the GPS or else turn west on Bluffton Columbus Grove Road when you see a sign that says Ebenezer Mennonite Church two miles. It is about three quarters of a mile to the parking lot for Motter Metro Park on the south side of the road. The gravel lot would hold about 50 cars but we were the only ones there on the day we visited. The park has no restroom facilities or improvements. . Other than the park sign at the entrance, the only other thing on the property is a very thorough signboard about identifying butterfly species. The mowed path is not accesible and was pretty squishy and muddy so we didn't finish the entire loop. It will be pretty when the trees bloom later in spring and the ground is drier. I hope the metro district has plans to install a hard surface or boardwalks so more people can enjoy the place.

Drove over an hour to check out this place. Very, very disappointed. First off the building is old and dilapidated, secondly it was closed. (Maybe for good reason) Not even sure if they are still in business.?? In looking trough glass doors it appears that the machinery is vintage early 1900's. Please call ahead if you plan to visit.
