A gateway to the Blue Ridge Mountains, Blue Ridge is home to beautiful lakes and spectacular mountains. Part of the Appalachians, the Blue Ridge range was aptly named for the bluish color that is most obvious when viewed from a distance. Great for hiking, relaxing or just enjoying the serenity, the mountains are a treat for anyone interested in a peaceful getaway.

A huge variety of stones & geodes, many fabulous sculpted stones and wood carvings. The folks were very knowledgeable about the wares. They have everything from inexpensive stone trinkets for the kids to gorgeous 4-5 foot wood carvings and furniture. Plan to spend a bit a time looking. I missed a lot the first time and went back for a better look! My favorite store in Blue Ridge!

There is also a good chance to see wildlife around the shorelines. We offer seasonal Laid Back Fishin' trips (which can also include some time for swimming in the lake), as well as private charters for the "serious anglers" or a private family or group outing for fishing, swimming or both. Serenity in the Mountains Spa is a lovely retreat. It offers lovely surroundings, friendly and helpful staff, comfy robes, refreshments, cheerful decorations, and relaxing couples massage. My husband and I were there celebrating our 17th wedding anniversary. Claire and Sue both did a great job with the massages which were given in the upstairs room. I highly recommend the spa as a place to relax and renew. The quiet room was a beautiful location to rest totally unplugged.

Best massage I ever had! I was hesitant going to a new place on vacation but I am so glad I went ahead and booked! The staff was friendly and professional and the cabin was relaxing. I would highly recommend this Spa! I will be definitely booking again.

The drive in was the hardest part! The trailhead is 5+ miles down a narrow gravel road with many hazards. Once we got to the trail it was an easy and scenic hike ending with a beautiful waterfall where the kids played in the creek. It’s 2 miles out and back and was no problem for us and our five and seven year olds. There’s a little incline on the way in but nothing strenuous.

Experience the Blue Ridge Mountains by horseback with Adventure Trail Rides! Choose from the Valley Trail, a great beginner's ride that's easier on the bum! Or, take a Fairy Cross ride, where you'll dismount and hunt for legendary Fairy Crosses. Other favorites are the Picnic ride by the creek, the evening Sunset ride or specially arranged Romantic and Proposal rides. The experienced guides will match horses to personalities, so you may be paired up with Diesel, Cupid, or Teaspoon! Back at the barnyard you can feed the chickens and relax in a rocking chair. Come on down ya'all!

We really enjoyed this short hike with our dog, especially being able to soak our paws in the cool river! The dirt road to the parking area is very ROUGH, lots of holes to dodge & tight turns. We made it in our minivan, but it was not easy.
