The farmer's market isn't just a good place to get fresh produce, it has a wonderful atmosphere and there are vendors selling a variety of different products! You could buy trinkets, grab lunch, buy some baked or preserved goods, or just sit and enjoy the music and outdoors. It's a great opportunity to support local vendors and the Blacksburg community!

A farm brewery about one mile outside of town in Blacksburg, VA. The taproom is located within a barn, with sheltered and open-air seating. The brewery space is shared with several small businesses under one rood, including Glade Road Growing Farm and Tabula Rasa Farm Kitchen. We are a family-friendly and pet-friendly environment! Live music is hosted every weekend. Brewery serves tastings, pints on site and growler fills to-go. Tabula Rasa serves farm-to-table fare whenever the brewery is open with a seasonal, chalkboard menu. Food is available by cash only; Rising Silo Brewery accepts cash or credit.
Went here after a Saturday Virginia Tech football game. There was already a pretty nice crowd but we did get a table for our party of 6. My husband had the beer flight, I had the specialty beer with the rim of cinnamon and sugar. My daughter had Kombucha. All were completely satisfied with the selections. We will definitely return on a future visit.

I am so glad Virginia Tech decided to build this beautiful memorial to the the faculty and students that lost their lives on campus. It is a fitting memorial to remember these precious lives. Please visit and pay your respects so they are never forgotten.

The park is on a portion of the Huckleberry Trail that connects Blacksburg to Christiansburg. From the parking area on Merrimac, walk to the boardwalk, and follow to the path through the woods that goes past the entrance to the old mine. A small bridge crosses a creek, and interpretive signs explain features of the area, including Linkous spring. The path emerges on the trail at the site of the mining community commissary. Turn right, and you will come upon a display with a coal cart, winch, and more interpretive signs describing the mine operations.
