Billund is built on LEGO. The city is home to a LEGO factory, which produces the lion's share of the world's plastic building bricks, and a theme park, LEGOLAND.

The Museum opens again February 1 2020 Teddy Bear Art Museum is situated in the former private home of the LEGO family in the heart of Billund. The Museum, over 700 square metres in size, comprises galleries, shop and a workshop - all with a common theme - teddy bears! The Museum's collection, with more than 1,200 teddy bears, reflects the versatility in style, materials and creativity of the teddy bear as an art form. Enjoy a piece of cake and a cup of coffee, or a light lunch in the Teddy Bear Cafe. Take a stroll round the beautiful park filled with trees and flowers in "Edith's Garden".
An amazing collection with plenty of information and friendly helpful curators. Even if you have no particular interest in bears the history is fascinating. Lovely little cafe on site too.

After some hectic days in legoland we have decided to look for an escape. We had the chance to pick up black currants and deliver them to the lovely ladies who were cooking jam and marmelade from the freshly picked berries. The kids got to witness the process and be part of it- at the end we have received a small jar of freshly made jam and it honestly felt like being a child again at my grandmothers house in the country side. We have enjoyed some (huge) freshly made waffles with homemade jam as well. As this wasn't enough we got to enjoy a day of walking in the fresh air, play with goats, pet rabbits, forge our own iron hearts at the local blacksmith, have a ride with the carriage (for only 10kr/pers) and leave the place with knowledge about the danish way of living from the 1950s. All this for only 40kr entrance price (adults) and free for kids under 18. 100% recommended. There's more to Billund than just Legoland ????

Welcome to my workshop. I design, handdying silkyarn and handweaving unique textiles in an old fashioned way and are transforming old nordic weaving tradition into modern artistic design. It is fiberdesign in a class by itself and for you, who is looking for something very special! Best regards Silkweaver Bodil Ølholm
