My husband thoroughly enjoyed his belated 60th birthday present of a half day experience. He was able to handle and learn about a wide variety of birds of prey. The experience was great value for money and he would recommend to all.

We had my husband’s 80th birthday lunch at Burstead on 2nd February. Food was delicious and the attention from the staff excellent. A really friendly place for a celebration. Particular thanks to Andy and Dino for their help with organising the lunch for our 40 guests making it a memorable occasion. Thank you all once again.

Lots of beers and some local wine. Have been coming here for several times. They will be hosting spring beer festival from 19 to 22nd March as well. Quite compact place though.

A warm welcome will always greet you at Hanningfield reservoir visitor centre. The visitor centre is set in mature woodland and offers superb views over the 870 acre Hanningfield Reservoir. It is an ideal place to view the wildlife within the nature reserve and to receive the latest sightings news. The centre has full disabled access as does the Lyster Bird hide that is a short distance away. There are lots of gifts in the centre shop and a full range of binoculars and telescopes, as well as books and refreshments. So while you're enjoying a nice warming drink you can take time to enjoy the stunning view over the water and browse the display. The nature reserve offers some beautiful walks through the woodland, taking in bird hides, ponds and views across the reservoir. The site is run in partnership with Essex & Suffolk Water and you can walk through the reserve to the Essex & Suffolk Water Fishing Lodge and the Cafe on the Water. Only assistance dogs are allowed on the site.
It cost £1. To buy the map of the trail and you can borrow a crayon to do brass running of the wind in the willows characters that you find alone the trail... We had such a wonderful time with our 3 year old granddaughter. It was safe and great exercise for us all... We did enjoy toasted sandwiches and drinks in the cafe and sat in the sunshine enjoying an ice cream after the trail... We will definitely go back again... Fantastic value for money.....

I frequent Lake Meadows just to walk around the lake. Always plenty of people around with children and dogs. The path around the lake is pothole free and has a good surface for walking. There are a number of seats around the lake so it is easy to have a rest once in a while. An enjoyable venue.

Another pleasant evening at local establishment. After visiting other local pubs this week this venue really understands the safety measures needed and made us feel welcome and safe. Food good and the service from Ellie very welcoming. Will be planning a return visit.
