What an amazing place! The museum displays are world standard, with beautiful and thoughtful display cases. There are samples of the embroidery worked up that you can touch, turn over etc. Lots of information gathered by the organisation from the various communities whose work is represented: so there is great quality contextual information from interviews with the women who made the work. The organisation is a research and educational space for the community also, so really embodies living craft that empowers the local communities. The guide was knowledgable and patient, and the shop had wonderful pieces. For textiles geeks, this is a 3 hour stop. I think for normal people an hour or two will be enjoyable and interesting ;)

It's a place definetly not to be missed at all. This place is a few kilometers from the Dholavira excavation site. The roads are small and bumpy but the site is beautiful and wonderful. You can see fossils of trees and plants turned over millions of years ago. We hired a guide to explain us. The Fossils here are fibrous in nature and it belongs to some plant fossil (petrified wood) associated with the Khadir formation comprising sandstone-shale-limestone sequences belonging to the Jurassic age (Aalenian-Bathonian) 187-176 million years old.

Nice place The Palace was the house of the Royal family of MadanSingh . The last king of Kutch, Madansingh died in this place in the year 1991. The SharadBaug Palace once the house of Royal family has now been transformed into a museum and currently is adorned with the striking relics while the palace is surrounded by beautiful collection of numerous flowers and few of the medicinal plants and this has led to the reasons why many migrating birds flew to visit this palace. The visitors can visit the palace for six days of the week while the palace remains closed on Fridays for the public view. The timings to visit the palace are 9 to 12 in mornings and 3 to 6 in evening. The entry fee to visit the palace is Rs 25.
