Small 14th century church standing on the banks of the River Conwy. Now redundant, it is in the care of the St Michael's Betws-y-Coed Trust.
This is a lovely old church, slightly away from the centre of Betws-y-Coed. There is a fine stone effigy of a knight, and a font that is older than the church building. A recording of choral music adds to the peaceful atmosphere. If you like historic buildings or are looking for a restful retreat for a few minutes, away from the busy streets of Betws-y-Coed, this is well worth a visit.

A really lovely place to go for a walk, there are different trails that suit all fitness levels. It can get quite busy on weekends, so would definitely recommend going during the week.

There are so many routes up it's well worth consulting a map first, some of the lesser known paths are very interesting and take you on a magical mystery tour through the depths of the forest. It's more short Sunday afternoon stroll territory than a full on hike, anyone of reasonable fitness should find it moderately easy. It's part of the vast Gwydir forest which is a mecca for trail running and has hosted the World Mountain Running Champs and Ultra Trail Running Champs in recent years. I walk and run up here regularly as I live just down the road in Colwyn Bay, it never gets old.

We crossed this daily from Bryn Bella Guest House to Betws-y-coed. Great fun and a sure shortcut into the village.

We stayed at the Bryn Afon right next to the Pont-y-Pair So we saw the bridge in the morning, the evening, with cloudy and clear skies. A beautiful old stone bridge. My favorite in that part of Wales. I always marvel at 600 year old structures that are still in use even after centuries of the stresses of flooding etc. Loved the sounds of the river cascading over the rocks. A short walk from the train station where many tour busses stop. Suprised that most tourists do not make the walk to catch a view of this historic bridge Shared one picture below...but took many more Time you should spend...If you are a photographer you can spend several hours here.

This deep gorge is surrounded by a seemingly endless expanse of scenic beauty.
Visited here many times and recently a week ago. We had a very pleasant 20min conversation with the owners. They have an honesty box and at £1 per person, 50p for children £1 for a car is excellent value to see a beautiful scenic place. There is a small car park but have never had a problem on the many occasions we've visited. Circular walk which takes you along part of the river, with a divert down some uneven steep steps to the Gorge but so worth it. There were adults with young children so depends on how confident you are taking them down there. Plenty of rocks to clamber over! Very tranquil and lives up to its name 'fairy glen'. Lovely picnic site by the river. Owners have always been chatty and also run a b&b. 5 mins drive to Betws-y-Coed. We always call at the Glen on the way to Llandudno via the A5. Well worth a visit for the price.
