This trail is absolutely amazing and one of the best we've ever hiked. We would choose it over for example Rheinsteig any time. The different stages are very beautiful and varied, and the nature in the area is breathtaking. All the small towns along the way have made a great effort to make there mark on the stages with nice places to enjoy the view, relax, eat you packed lunch or read about the areas distinctiveness. Getting to the top of the vineyards can be challenging and tough but is absolutely worth the trouble. We simply loved it here and we are planning on coming back. The signage on the trail is really, really good and easy to follow. The stages north of Trier are the best of those we hiked.
