Thames Valley Police has a small museum at the White House, Sulhamstead (near Reading, Berkshire), formerly headquarters of the Berkshire Constabulary and now Thames Valley Police's training centre. The museum includes displays on the history of Thames Valley Police and the five police forces that merged to form it: Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Oxford City, Oxfordshire and Reading Borough. The museum's collections include items from the Great Train Robbery of 1963, uniforms, equipment, medals, photographs, scenes of crime evidence, and occurrence and charge books.
Thanks again to Colin for a brilliant evening for our Explorer Scouts. Lots of insight into some well known and not so well known crimes from the past 100 years.

Tucked away on the edge of a housing estate, on the fringes of a country park, this museum is a hidden gem. It doesn’t have the attention grabbers, like Spitfires and Hurricanes, but it does have a wealth of exhibits and information about some of the lesser known ‘greats’ of British aviation. It is staffed by volunteers, who have a real passion for their subject, and £3.50 per adult entrance fee doesn’t seem enough. Well worth a visit.

The jewel in the Royal Borough’s crown. We’re a family friendly museum bursting with interesting facts and interactive displays on the Royal Borough and its residents. When available we offer guided tours of Windsor Guildhall where portraits of monarchs adorn our walls. Your ordinarily is our extraordinary. Keep exploring online until we open again.
This is a small single room museum on the ground floor of the Windsor Guildhall building close to the Castle. There’s a small entry fee of just £2, but it’s well worth paying to see a fascinating collection of objects connected with the town and its long history. There are also useful information boards all round the room with photographs and explanations. There’s an area in the centre with various things to keep children amused. Loved this tiny museum, which does a great job in a very limited space.

The Museum was opened in 1875 and has 16,000 objects. It is Berkshire's only dedicated Natural History Museum. We have large collections of stuffed birds, mammals, fossils, and butterflies and moths. The Museum celebrates the life of Sir Joseph Banks: peer into his cabin on board HMB Endeavour and explore the museum to find exquisite prints of the plants he discovered on his epic voyage.
I cross the Thames over into Eaton on Saturday evening it was a lovey break from the hustle and bustle of Windsor .... very quaint street with beautiful hanging baskets outside the shops. Lovely bars and restaurants ..... I found this place enchanting.
