We were driving to see Lake Okeechobee and spied a Subway sammich shop in Belle Glade. We got our sub and the Garmin found Glade Pioneer Park nearby. It had plenty of picnic tables and was green and clean. We had a nice lunch and then went to find Lake Okeechobee.

We were traveling between the Florida Keys and Tampa, FL on Memorial Day. Saw this park on the way south and needed a lunch break. Stopped for lunch. This is great for RV's of every size. Plenty of picnic pavilions and space to spread a blanket on the ground. Very serene setting and sits just below Lake Okeechobee. We walked up the levy, but you cannot see the actual "full" lake from there as there is an island in the way. Nevertheless, great place to stop and relax before hitting the road again. The facilities are top rated. We would use this park again when the opportunity arises. Good find on our travels. Just south of Clewiston, Florida on US 27.

I first heard of Black Gold Airboat Tours during Belle Glade's annual Black Gold festival. They were hosting a special for mini tours, about 30 minutes, around Lake Okeechobee leaving from the boat ramp on Torry Island. I wanted to show a visiting friend the beauty of "Lake O," but it's difficult to show the lake's vastness from shore. Black Gold Airboat Tours presented the perfect opportunity to show my guest around the lake. Our tour was shorter than the normal tours they offer by reservation (1.5 hours, to half day or full day), but we had a great time and felt very safe during our ride. If you're visiting The Glades for the first time, or have friends coming to visit, a boat ride on Lake Okeechobee is a must.

We went on a lark, rented clubs, got a dozen balls, rode a cart with GPS. Cost for all was just $41 pp for 18 holes. The course is actually two old 9 hole courses separated by about a quarter mile.
It's lots of fun to play, especially if you don't demand silky-smooth greens. Lots of water, marshes, and great birds the days we went: Great Blue Herons, egrets, ibis, and cormorants. If you like being outdoors, just a little more than you like golf, you will love this course.

Skydiving was one of the most amazing experiences I have ever had and at Skydive Palm Beach the people made it even better! I could not have asked for a better group of people to help me with my first jump! All I can say is AMAZING!
