We spent the past two afternoons enjoying the trails. Yesterday snowshoeing and today cross country skiing. Nice trails designated for each activity. Very quiet, we did not see anyone else on the trails either day.

Stayed at Lakeview in a "studio" room. Whirlpool tub, king bed, fireplace and full kitchen. Kitchen area very nice but has minimal cooking utensils but just enough for our needs. The room was very nice, clean with plenty of towels already in the room without asking.
During our stay (2nd night of 3) they blew a generator causing many things to be shut down including the hot water. It was restored about 24 hours later. At check out a $50 adjustment was made to our bill.
Winnie and Heather at the front desk were both wonderful!

My sons and I had a great time sampling the 9 different ciders and meads that they have available. I liked the King's Cherry cider the best and bought 4 bottles to take home. My sons ended up with over a case of cider of various flavors. The co-owner took the time to explain his various products and some of the unique places he goes to get the various fruits he uses. We could also watch the bottling process as some of the bottles came straight from the tank. It was a great way to spend over an hour to taste and learn about ciders and meads. I will be stopping by again when I am in the area. Very enjoyable.

When was the last time you received friendly, personalized service at your local meat market? That's exactly what you'll get here plus the best meat your money can buy. Whether its their in-house made jerky, smoked whitefish pate, sausages, fresh fish or meats, the fine folks at the Bellaire Smokehouse will provide you with the very best. Their steaks are hand cut to order and will rival anything you could ever get in the best steakhouse in a big city. They also have a great selection of specialty and microbrew beer and wine. We are always delighted with anything we get from them. Order in advance around holidays to ensure availability so you won't be disappointed. Its no secret that they are the best around!

Welcome to The Chief Golf Course, or as it has long been known, "The Spirit of the North." The Chief Golf Course is among the best destinations in Northern Michigan golf. Here at The Chief, we have everything you need to create a perfect day on the course, from a fully-stocked pro shop to membership opportunities to a hospitable staff.
Very challenging course with gorgeous views on every hole! Many rental houses alongside some of the holes which were interesting. Well kept greens, fairways and even the giant beeches they called bunkers were nicely kept which made it easier to get out of...maybe.

The owners of this winery were very friendly, and were great hosts. The wines were good, although my favorites were the ciders, since we were looking to try drinks that featured the local fruit ingredients. Cider is a much better way to experience that than wine, in my opinion, although the wine was fine. I think the cider we ended up buying was called Farmer Brown. I don't even typically like cider but after my wife tried it she insisted that I do the same and we both came away thinking it was one of the better drinks we'd had on our trip to Michigan.

The prices for labor are crazy and they go by standard times to get the job done. If the mechanic finishes it faster they do not cut the amount of time to reflect this so you could be paying more than necessary for repair work.

A toy store for all ages. We have gifts, toys, candles, cards, + much more!
I shop most often for 4 grandchildren who live in big cities with generous parents. I can always find a new delight or this seasons hottest thing in a version we don't have yet in Little Treasures and the staff is super friendly and helpful! Another reason Bellaire is the best!

This Arnold Palmer-Ed Seay course lives up to its name.
This was probably my favorite course. It was beautiful and a little challenging. The drink cart girl was friendly and had perfect timing.

If you like to hike, this is the best hike I have ever been on in Michigan! It is just one mile from town, simple to find down a residential street, and well worth going to again and again!
The extreme ecological diversity found at the Glacial Hills Pathway and Natural Area here is beyond anything I have ever seen before. There are 12 distinct habitat types, including two hardwood forest types, three wetland habitats, and the shrub thicket and wet mesic forest types that support more than 20 species of trees, over 100 species of flowers, and over 100 species of birds, including great-horned owls, eagles and the threatened red-shoulder hawk.
Wow.
