Hands down, Dowry Creek Marina is one of the best stops on the East Coast! The location, just minutes off the ICW, is an ideal spot between Elizabeth City and New Bern/Beaufort. The owners and staff at the marina are extremely welcoming and really make you feel at home. Amenities include an awesome pool, a well stocked store, a free laundry room with 3 washer/dryer sets, a lounge with books, puzzles and games, fuel, pump outs (even available at your slip), 3 private and very clean bathrooms/showers, and a courtesy car. The town of Belhaven isn’t large, but there is a good grocery store and several restaurants. The staff went out of their way to take care of everyone. Afternoon storms popped up on 2 of the days we were there. Both days the staff made their way around the marina checking on boats and helping people secure their lines. We travel with our two kids and they both remarked that they would like to stay at Dowry Creek Marina forever. The marina is extremely family-friendly and it felt like a true vacation staying there. We will absolutely be back and will probably choose to keep our boat there full time after we complete the Great Loop.

The Belhaven Marina was phenomenal on so many fronts. Greg the manager was very accommodating and helpful. The facilities (rest rooms/showers, etc) were pristine and comfortable. The putting green was a nice diversion after dinner. Greg recommended several restaurants and made a reservation for the three of us. Excellent recommendation as Spoon River was as good as billed. Great overnight visit made successful by Greg, the warm town feel and homey environment.

Fabulous stop on the ICW. Dockmaster Henry is a pleasure to work with, incredibly helpful, friendly, the property is very nice and clean and super convenient. Yes, it can be a tight fit for a large vessel in here but I put my 50+ foot single screw trawler on the inside side tie dock in a 15 kt breeze no problem, and guy travelling with me put his 50 footer in the slot on that same dock right ahead of me. We basically consumed the entire side of that dock. Henry worked very hard handling lines on the dock to secure these two very heavy vessels. We needed some service for our dinghy's outboard motor and Henry connected us with Radcliffe Marine who arrived the next morning and started in on the outboard. I cannot image better service and I can't wait to stay here again.

The newest art gallery in Belhaven, NC will feature southern art in a variety of mediums. Owned and operated by female entrepreneurs who value the arts and wish to share that passion with others.
What a surprise gem! They offer a wide range of art, are knowledgeable about the artists, and oh so friendly. They are great about asking questions and helping find the right piece to fit the décor of your home. If you’re visiting, or plan to visit, this is a must place to see.
