Worth a photo opportunity. Good place to take a picture on a walking tour of the old town which is full of interesting buildings.

We did the morning walking tour and thoroughly enjoyed the walk, the buildings and all the local knowledge and history. It was a good way to spend a morning. The ticket for the tour gives you entry to many of the buildings in the historical precinct, excellent value.

We visited through the day so not a tour but it was simply amazing, The historical buildings show a life lived in another era and evokes thoughts of what it must have been like to have lived there. We met by accident a man who owns a property on site who generously spent time telling us about the history and life that was personal to me as I had a relative that had died there. The gardens are worth a visit in their own rite.

Closed Due to the escalation of covid-19 controls the old beechworth gaol cafe and tours will be closed indefinitely as of 9am monday 23rd march. From all of the team at the old beechworth gaol, we would like to wish everyone good health and we look forward to opening the doors again when the time is right We continue to monitor the advice from the victorian state government.

Really interesting tour. Lots of history about prisoners . Too 1 hour and was well worth it. Cafe on site as well.
