The spa was beautiful and very well run. Upon entering the Spa you are given robe and slippers and escorted to the Bath Rituals area. This is separate for male and female. The attendant took me through and explained everything on the Ladies side. Theres a Changing Area with lockers & private dressing rooms; a Shower area that has two private showers; An entire wall of towels and amenities- disposable hair brushes, dryers, makeup remover, lotions, shower caps, hair gel and spray, deodorant, Qtips, wipes, mouthwash etc etc.Theres also a private Ladies bathroom. The “bath ritual” itself is comprised of luxe showers, steam room, large hot pool, and cold plunge pool. Afterwards, we met up in the quiet Co-ed Relaxation lounge.I had booked a Therapeutic massage and Maple Sugar Scrub (DO THIS!). Hubby did hand massage and brief mani/pedi. Services were great and the personnel are easy going and friendly. After our appointments we again relaxed in the quiet area for a little snooze before going to our separate areas to dress or shower. You could even do the Bath Rituals again if desired. We were there midweek and it was not busy at all.

NMAC is the only full-time, year-round, independent institution devoted to the display, preservation and study of (antique) American woven coverlets. The Museum is open seven days a week. Each visitor is given a personal tour.Currently, the (500-plus) collection includes coverlets made between 1771 and 1889. Exhibitions change periodically. Generally there are about 80 coverlets on display along with "period" beds and bedding, and spinning and weaving equipment including looms and a (rare) Jacquard head. We are located in a former Common School building (dating to 1859) in the historic district of downtown Bedford, PA.
Very unique and interesting examples of period craftsmanship, its evolution and the machine ages effect on it. Beautiful examples of coverlets and the tools used in its manufacturing are on display. We now see many of these items in antique stores and stored away in trunks, but don’t understand the pride of place these once held in the home, where they were both a necessity and a form of art. Check it out.

My wife and I loved our experience at Briar Valley tasting room. I would highly recommend. The wines were great and the staff stayed late to complete our tasting. We enjoyed the Chardonnay.

Bedford is a familiar stopping point on our trips across PA and where we stay when visiting the Flight 93 Memorial (of course you have been there), Gravity Hill or the Covered Bridges of Bedford County. On our most recent trip, we found this wonderful small brewery nestled inside a cycling/water sports store just across the river from downtown Bedford. The expectations for small breweries in rural areas are usually low - and were we surprised! The vibe was great - a craft brewery in in cycling store is so much better than a chain coffee shop in a bookstore. And the beer was excellent - I regretted not bringing my growlers. There is no food, but I assume you can bring a sandwiches from one of the great shops on Pitt Street to enjoy with a few pints. The staff is terrific (cheers to Rachael and her restaurant recommendation) and there is outside seating for nice days. OBB may not be a reason by itself to visit Bedford, but it is a must visit when you do.

Kind of a weird place but in a good way. A little bit of everything - and I mean everything. Lots of interesting stuff and a great place to kill some time on a summer afternoon. Worth a visit.
