A beautiful and reflective space to visit. Stained glass and woodwork, reverence and quiet, away from the tourist crowd. Beautiful architecture.

My wife discovered this incredible collection I think in a Michelin guide soon after we checked into our hotel in Beaune. I'm not sure if she regretted it later. We spent the better part of a day here, as I'm a near lifelong motorcyclist. The main event here is a truly mind-boggling collection of mostly vintage (50's and earlier) bikes, in varying degrees of restoration. I'd say that's my only complaint, that most bikes were not in exactly pristine condition. But the sheer volume of the collection is mind-boggling. And all the many, many models in row after row of display cases. I couldn't take them all in. I definitely took too many photos. I'd say the setting is almost as spectacular as the museums. It's a toss-up as to which is most startling: the rows and rows of motorcycles in an ancient castle, or outside the site of I don't know how many jet fighters just planted on lawns here and there on a typically beautiful French country estate. A little surreal. But for any gearhead like me, it was heaven. I'm not into fire engines or jet fighters that much, but I still spent a fair amount of time staring at those collections as well. and the Abarth racing car museum. and the small space exploration Pavilion, that's easy to miss outside. Pretty sure I forgot something else. You get the idea. If you're into this kind of stuff, I hope you have as patient a partner as I did with my wife. Plus, for anyone, the adjacent village is, like much of Burgundy, or for that matter France in general in my experience, charming and beautiful and full of great food and wine and friendly people. Highly recommended, at least for people a little obsessed like me :-)...

To begin with, I love European open air markets and this Saturday market is great! The vendors took pride in arranging their areas, the vegetables, fruit, dairy products, meat, bread all are fresh and beautifully displayed. The vendors were only to happy to provide interesting information regarding their product. We visited in October and there were no large groups and the crowd was what one would expect for this type of venue. I thoroughly enjoyed my morning at the market.
