Just 10 miles east of La Romana lies the fishing town of Bayahibe. Here, divers will find spectacular coral formations and three shipwrecks: the Atlantic Princess, St George and Coco. In the national park, nature enthusiasts will find lagoons and wildlife, including a variety of birds. There is much to do, but the inviting, soft white-sand beaches are perfect for travelers seeking relaxation.

Bayahibe is a fishermen village considered the getaway to isla Saona. It’s situated 16.4km from La Romana airport between the Chavon river and the Cotubanama National Park. Bayahibe is a popular destination for independent travelers, a great place to get in touch with local life, taste the local food and discover the caribbean sea wildlife.

Forget Punta Cana (too crowded, too many hotels, too many seaweed...). Dominicus beach is amazing. Pure Caribbean sea. Quiet, clean...beautiful!

Bayahibe is a small town with Beautiful Beaches. The subculture is different from other parts of DR, as it's a 1-way in, 1-way out town (police station at entry). It's knid of like an exclusive town for Domincans and Tourists/Foreigners together. Crime does not exist pretty much. Fresh seafood is brought by fishermen (a culture that's existed here for generations) daily. A small park to exercise. Lots of wonderful nature walks. You dont even need a car here, just walk. I love Bayahibe.
