Jost Vineyards

Jost Vineyards is situated on over 100 acres by the beautiful North Shores Sunrise Trail. With the largest and longest operating winery in the Atlantic region, the Jost family pioneered the industry, supporting the majority of today's independent vineyard operations. Their estate bottled whites, reds and specialties are lovingly crafted in the cellars and are available for sampling, sale and shipping from the winery store. Hike, bike and picnic with spectacular vistas of the vineyards and beautiful beaches of the Northumberland coastline. The area enjoys a mezzo climate with more days of sun than anywhere else in Atlantic Canada. Enjoy local cheeses with a perfectly paired wine on the licensed terrace and take a vineyard tour. If you are not able to make the drive, Jost wines can be discovered at most local restaurants, liquor stores and your favorite neighbors back deck.

This was our second time to Jost. Once in 2017 for a tasting and look around, loved the place. This year we were back for the Stomp. We arrived on Friday to check on a few logistical issues. We met the owners, Carl and Donna. We explained we were from out of town for the Stomp. They showed us our VIP seats and explained how the day would go. They were very friendly, genuine, and generous. We stayed for a tasting and decided to stay for a glass of GBFR while enjoying the sun on the patio, one glass led to another and another. We just had such a great experience that day. The following day was the Stomp Festival and it was amazing. The talent was so good, the vibe was like no other festival we’ve been to. Well organized and great food and clean facilities. A world class event at a world class venue!

What an incredible place! We enjoyed a delicious lunch with friends on the outdoor patio while taking in the stunning views and enjoying some great wine. The atmosphere was relaxed and inviting. The staff were super friendly, and our server, Ella was very attentive. We enjoyed various dishes, which of course included the seafood chowder. The gift shop provided a selection of their various wines, as well as some gourmet food items. The signature red phone booth in the middle of vineyards is a great touch, and the entire place has charm and personality! Highly recommend and definitely our new go-to lunch spot in the Wolfville area!

We would like to thank all of the friendly and helpful staff at the Avondale Sky Winery for making our wedding on July 28, 2018 such a wonderful event. In particular we extend our heartfelt thanks to Kaitlyn Hagen, the Events and Marketing Manager who was so great to work with. She was so helpful in all aspects of our special day. She ensured that everything ran smoothly and that everyone felt very relaxed. Leann was very knowledgeable about the wines that we sampled and chose for our special day. Alana, Glenda and Justin ensured that the food and wines were spectacular! The Charcuterie boards prepared by Chef Justin that included local meats, cheeses, breads, homemade pickled asparagus and seasonal fruits were fantastic and complimented our wine pairings. The evening weather was very cooperative and our quaint immediate family sharing of our vows on the outdoor patio was spectacular. We would highly recommend the Avondale Sky Winery and Restaurant for a wedding venue. Cheers to the wonderful staff for making our day so special! Brenda and Trevor ????

Our first time at Lightfoot. Won't be our last! This is such a fantastically gorgeous location with a picture-postcard view! We dined outside under the large carnival tent, sitting on the outside edge with a direct view across the valley to the picturesque Blomidon. We started with a shared charcuterie board. A definite do-again choice! The three of us each ordered a different pizza, one with a gluten free crust. All were perfectly done, with light and crispy crusts and lots of fresh ingredients. Such a terrific meal!
