Nestled between the Caribbean and lush mountains, Basseterre has a long history of colonial struggle that is reflected in its architecture and cultural monuments. The National Museum, St. George's Anglican Church, the Circus area and Independence Square all give glimpses to the city's past. But most travelers do not come to Basseterre for history; they come for the beaches, resorts and marinas, offering ample snorkeling, windsurfing, diving, sunbathing and golfing opportunities.

I can go on and on about the wonderful day but will give you the condensed version. From the time of pick up until the drop off we had a blast with Pastor Wiliams (Henry) as our guide for the day. We had 7 of us aged from 21 to 88 and the tour was great for all. We hit all the stops Brimstone Hill Romney Manor + + and ended the day at Timothy Hill after a stop at Shipwreck ( Our choice) for A swim, drinks and lunch. Met Mr Grey a few times during the day. Great guy, Great Company and Great Day for all of us ! Can't say enough good things about them. We topped the day off with a wedding ceremony from Pastor Williams for two in our unsuspected party :-) They are still together pastor. Not sure for how long but still together! :-) Thank You Thenford, Thank You Henry, If anything I can do from the states, you know how to get a hold of me. Take good care and keep on doing what you do! All the best! Mike & Family.

Chris was waiting for us in front of the casino as planned. He knows everything about the island and the perfect places to stop. He also is expert at keeping the hucksters away although there were few on the Saturday we toured. The town is an easy walk from the port and is was nice to get out of town in the comfort of his modern van. So nice to get individual attention instead of being herded onto a big tour bus!

We booked the tour through our travel agent's site. It was cheaper than going through Princess Shore excursions. We were met at the ship's dock with a 12 passenger van and had lots of room. Our guide was "Spoonie", Annie's husband, and he was funny and very informative about all that we saw. The stops were just the right amount of time as to see everything and not get bored waiting. We saw alot of things and it gave us a good review of the island. I would book another tour with them if I visit again.

To start with I have to say that Captain Sunshine Tours delivered on their promises and Damien was the best guide you could ever want, helpful, knowledgeable, skilled and entertaining. The hike is not a hike - it is a mountain and rock climb, a real killer for anyone not in top physical condition. My husband and I are in our mid sixties and walk a lot at home so we managed to finish it but were sore for days after. What were we thinking?!! In addition, there is a real possibility of injury and no aid in sight. The view is of a jungle filled crater through a small gap in the trees so unless you want to physically challenge yourself and are confident of your abilities - don't consider this. The view is not worth the effort. Any satisfaction comes from arriving safe and sound back at the starting point.
