A good weekend retreat. Can be covered in a day trip from Kolkata. Parking is a concern. I liked the new online ticketing system, though. Patrons need to maintain the decorum of the place.

Sri Sri Matri Mandir is situated at Joyrambati, Bankura. This holy place is maintained very beautifully. There are prayers and aratis scheduled from morning to evening accompanied by three rounds of prasad. The atmosphere of the place is very good. Accommodations are also available inside the Math Complex. But, bookings should be done in advance. Night stays add to an another level of experience...

Had been at Biharinath 4/5 March, 2019.This time Temple was very busy as thousands of pilgrims thronged and were performing rituals. Most of the time the temple looks very serene as pilgrims come and go through out the day. This place is full of natural beauty having High hills, dense forest with abundant flora and fauna, water bodies, river Damodar, spring and above all most revered Shiva temple at Rarh Bengal. The only proper accommodation here is BIHARINATH TOURIST POINT (8017202499), which has become more and more beautiful as time passes. So please come and enjoy Biharinath.

Built in 1737 by the daughter-in-law of Mallaraj Gopal Singh, Churamoni Devi in ek-ratna style with brick and bass relief carvings. It has one centrally located dome on a square based temple. Only a fraction of the terracotta carvings are there today.

Really awesome experience. The birds eye view is a rare experience to me. It is really tough to climb the top of the hill availing the natural stony path through the forest. Really so thrilling. Amazing environment will be noticed on the hill top. To know more you may visit SUSUNIA HILL in my YouTube channel "Nirmalya on wheels".

The forest is quite dense and scenic. It is good place for a weekend trip with family or friends. The road leading to the place is nice surrounded by trees and it is a nice drive through the forest leading to the resort. The resort is nice too and the place is beautiful with gardens, resting places and animals to view.

This happens to be the place where the Malla Rulers of Rarh Bangla executed their prisoners of war and the place is more correctly spelled as "Goom Ghar", meaning "room for vanishing". The entire architecture seemed to be made of red earthern fire-bricks and terracotta. I also noticed some ancient weapons conserved inside.
